I have HUGE news about re-released beads.

The thing thats upsetting me is about Catsworld, is she leaving ? I don't want anyone to get upset enough to leave, this is our happy place, I have been on some forums that are downright bitchy thats why I love this place we are all polite and friendly even when we disagree................aren't we ?

For this moment catsworld has decide not to be on this forum. I hope she will be back in the future it is a sad thing.

Hopefully I am misunderstanding that Catsworld is leaving .

I'm sad that she felt this way and it's her Birthday today too.

everyone is entitled to their opinions no matter what they are. It's a shame that anyone's feelings are hurt.

I have not felt the need to comment in this thread until now but want Catsworld to know how much I value and enjoy her contributions here Please do not leave, you would be sorely missed. Wishing you all the best on your Birthday

That sounds hopeful!!

It is sad that someone feels they have to leave over a discussion. However I think there's more to it having read certain comments. I really hope the reason she feels she doesn't want to be around anymore isn't because of misunderstanding.

Catsworld and I have struck up a great friendship and it pains me to see her leave under these circumstances. I emailed her this morning asking her to read the recent comments so, she'd understand she wasn't being picked on, singled out or made to feel bad because of how she feels about retired beads. I assured her that we would most certainly miss her and if you are reading this Catsworld, I 'll miss you in all! Have a truly splendid birthday and don't stay away too long! I for one value your contributions! I know I'm not alone in saying that either! Anyway, hurry back!

Can you get in touch with Catsworld and tell her that I am deeply sorry for offending her with my comments. It is not at all people like her that I was referring to. I don't know if she saw my apology this morning, but I posted my honest true feelings, and perhaps I should not have. I would not, under any circumstances do anything to make someone want to leave and I would like the opportunity to tell her I am so very sorry again. I re-read my post, and although I did not call anyone "bad", I do realize that with the different languages that it may have come across to someone like this. Just because you are happy that there will not be any more re-releases, does not mean I think you are a grumbler and a bad person. I do respect everyone's opinion, and although I disagree, it is not important enough for me to voice "my" opinion when it hurts someone else's feelings. It "WAS" important enough to me this morning to offer my apology as soon as I was made aware that I had offended someone, just because if something were to happen to me today, I would not have ever had the opportunity to tell that person I was sorry. I said what I said. It is my opinion, I do not deny that. I do, however, very much regret that I said it and it hurt someone enough that they feel like they want to leave. I am truly sorry Catsworld. And just in case there are any other members who were offended, let me also tell you that I am very sorry in advance. I did not mean to hurt anyone.

I have to say that I was also upset by some of this thread, but I felt that no-one was deliberately setting out to upset, so I have stayed here. But I have to also say that I have nearly left this Forum twice now because of what I consider to be negative postings and other unresolved issues. I really don't care at all if people have completely opposite opinions to me, but it is difficult if they are expressed in what can be taken in a bad way - even if they are not meant to be taken that way. Emails and Forum postings can be so difficult!!! Many thanks again - I know that things are expressed in a forceful way because we are all so passionate about TBs

Thank you trollcat. All friendships are so much more important than any bead or opinion for that matter. I don't want to lose any friends, especially for something I said and especially on THIS forum...a safe haven for so many of us.

Trolldog, everyone has an opinion, and we're all entitled to voice it. There are different points of view. What we say or do in this forum will not, in the end, directly impact what TB HQ does. Trolldog, you spoke from your heart and judging from the responses, you expressed in no uncertain terms how others, including myself, felt too. You didn't single anyone out and your apology is gracious.

I think that what pushed some of our buttons was that we were happily enjoying our Joyfuls when this news erupted. It was hard to think why anyone would want to rain on this joy. Or imply that we did not earn or deserve the bead's re-release.

I can understand collectors being furious about the lack of consistent stamping on the new Joyfuls distinguishing them from the old and being fearful of more such releases that are damaging to the value of their collections. Trollbeads did drop the ball on this issue.

This is a forum, and participation comes with risks. Sita, perhaps you should have an "Enter at your own risk" section for some of these threads. It has been done in some (non-bead) forums, when OT discussions of religion and/or politics are involved. I suppose for us bead fanatics, there is a kind of a religious and political fervor that can get out of hand with any bead discussion.

I agree. People have left in the past, sometimes there is nothing we can do..

So sad it came to this, especially about a subject we don't even know is truth or just hearsay . There are some people you know well on forums and you know they'd never have malicious intentions ~ and Trolldog you're one of those people, I know you'd never deliberately set out to hurt or upset anyone, please don't have a heavy heart over this when you've done everything you can to put it right. I for one appreciate people being comfortable enough here to express their views even if I don't always agree with them! I always reckon the best way if you're feeling hurt or upset about something someone's said is to check in with that person to make sure you haven't misunderstood what they mean or why they said it before taking it personally or having a strong reaction ~ it's too easy to misread things in electronic communication, even when you really do know the person. I hope no-one else is feeling guilty for expressing a view ~ sometimes there's a build up with these things and it's just one last little comment that finishes you off - we're all a Jenga stack at heart, ready to topple at any minute! Plus I hope anyone who might be feeling a bit miffed by something that's been said can check in with the person who miffed them and clear the air rather than living with simmering resentment. Life's too short for simmering resentment!!
I really really hope Catsworld comes back. Making a big thing out of this now may not be the best thing (as long as she knows we all care), hopefully just a little break is all that's needed, we probably all need that at some time or another

Trolldog, you are one of the bright lights on BT. Not for a moment did I thing you were talking about BT members. You were venting about the secondary market and people that buy beads for profit and not for love of them. As soon as you were aware there was a misunderstanding about your post you addressed it and tried to correct it. And I do not think you should take this all on your shoulders. There was a heated discussion and many members were involved.

We may not agree about whether or not retired beads should be re-released. But I would hope we would all agree that without the ability to feel safe to express ourselves on a forum such as this, the forum looses a vital part of itself.

Catsworld I hope you will reconsider your decision. I really enjoy your beautiful designs and contributions to BT.
