Thanks Smaug, that would certainly be more equitable for everyone.... If I place an order with Nadia is the VAT automatically subtracted at some point?

Yes, upon entering/editing your billing and shipping address it is automatically deducted.
Hmm, which is very attractive for the world tour beads as well... Sometimes I feel like letting by 'wish beads' do a detour. On silver and/or gold beads it really pays off to get them from/through the US...

Thank you Sherlock for all the new pics! I don't like the idea of wearing money/coins, but it looks so much better than I expected..... Maybe I can make an exception, since it's not real money....

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
I worry that it is said in the translation that this bead will not be part of the Trollbeads collection. Is that the same collection that does not have a greyhound lock and why is it not a part?
Also what happens to bead purchases after 30 November? Do the sales not make a donation to charity or is the bead not any more?
Sorry I ask a lot of questions.

Is there anyone here who has the coin and the sun circle?

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
Seems that the US price is 59 USD but without any Charity. I think this is so annoying that again there is confusion about where which bead is sold. Why do they write it is for Germany only until 31.11.2011 if it is released in the USA in September and in Switzerland in October. What for?! Don't understand me wrong - I am happy that there are some more countries having the coin since it is really nice but why don't they just write it beforehand without this wrong information and everyone could choose where to buy. Would be much easier IMO....
Oh and I think it is quite sad that it isn't for Charity everywhere - each country a different charity would have been nice. In the USA the charity beads are always sold in the USA only, so why not worldwide charity collection?

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
I'm inclined to think that TB US advanced the sales in the US noticing unhappy US retailers about this collectors item being sold in Germany only for the moment, as it was intended. The coin appears to be an idea of the German distributor, hence the sale of it in Germany.
Quite a lot collectors have bought the coin already. And the price difference between the US and Germany is interesting since TB will be hurting themselves on it at first sight. They easily could've priced it on $ 69,- which meets the German price of € 59,- -/- 19% VAT. But it would mean that until the coins actually arrive from Germany at the US, sales will still continue from Germany to US and likely even beyond that moment. Am I correct it a first that US retailers are allowed to offer a pre-order on beads?
So with the remaining price difference of approx. € 8,- (EU ex. VAT € 49,58 - € 41,42 US price) you could say actually the buyer of the German coin donates uncredited to the charities instead of TB.
Next to the retailers who give up a part of their earnings...
In the light of all this the German coin seems a farce. Three months of country limited sales would've attracted a serious sum to donate to the appointed charities.
I'm sure not only the customers that bought the coins from Germany believing they'd support charities while enjoying this unique Trollbead and the German retailers believing they have a unique sales proposition are deeply disappointed by the lack transparency.

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
Mmmm i just spotted the price difference, so are the coins sold in the US, going to be charity coins as if not I feel TB lets down the german charity. Not acceptable surely why couldnot they have had the 3 months obtainable in germany or from germany only. Thats not fair!
Just reread some posts ..so for $59 is a non charity coin.. how much harder can you kick a dealer and charity in the teeth! Sorry but I really feel uncomfortable by the marketing of the TB empire. I am glad I bought from the german dealer and hope everyone else will continue to do so. In the first 3 months. These are trinkets for us collectors, we work hard for our money and if we decide to buy something that is now cheaper because it didnot support a charity.. how do you feel? 8 euros richer.. instead of knowing that the coin you twist on your bracelet donated to a good cause..? All a matter of feel, feelings... how do you feel cheap skate or generous collector? Sorry guys my grumpy mode just kicked in..

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
A charity bead should be a charity bead everywhere. If they choose to price it differently in the US, they should still donate the equivalent of 20 Euros per bead to a good cause.

Trollbeads US Charity;
Breast Cancer Awareness
Haiti Beads
Kimono Beads
I'd say they are doing a pretty good job of donating
Buy the coin in the US for $59 and then donate $10 to your favorite charity

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
I suppose that is one way around it buy the coin and drop $10 in a charity box, however at 59 euros.. it was stated that 20 euros would go to charity so if you want to do it right drop $25 dollars into a charity box..
Now suddenly your $59 dollar bead is $85 a different picture I'd say.
I would imagine the dealer in germany was contributing also to each sale making up the 20 euros? Sita, can you bring light on this..?

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
btw the kimono beads were for Japan , how much per each set was donated to the charity? and how much of the haiti beads was donated? I'm curious. as its a different setup in the UK
Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
I am sure the German Distributor is donating also to make up the 20 euros.
We still don't have official pricing in the US or even a date yet.

True the money was earmarked for Japan through Habitat for Humanity. I don't know the figures on the Haiti Beads but I think it was at least 250K, but I could be wrong. Lund handled the Haiti Beads.

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
from what i heard in the UK via the grapevine and ref our supplier FABLE I believe the amount was pitiful and I dropped hard cash in the bucket rather than buying the kimono bead set. The Haiti beads I have no idea but I would not make statements for certain unless the figures were confirmed, Lund handled it ask them.
Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
according to the tb booklet (the one with the prices on that you get from LDs) the Kimono beads were 50p per bead sold, and the pink and black empowerment beads were £10 per £260 set. it seems the coin is so far the best charity donation. sorry if this wasnt what you were asking

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
Haiti Bead was $14 per bead with a minimum of 100K. I don't know how many they made, but I know we sold out pretty quick. No chance of asking Lund about anything.

Re: Trollbeads Charity Coin - New Pictures Added
Grumpy the Kimono beads were not originally intended as a charity bead, they did that retroactively and very quickly after the Tsunami occured. They raised a decent sum for Shelterbox I believe, which I am sure they were pleased to receive.
I think as far as giving proceeds to charity goes TBs does pretty well. Much better percentages than a lot of companies do, especially when they are a much smaller company in comparison to the huge multi-consumer product conglomerates
