I mentioned it on facebook already, but there's a funny error in the brochure: The text Brightonbelle posted above talks about Thor Høy being the designer. On the same page of the leaflet a little lower it says beneath a close-up of the coin: "Designer: Søren Nielsen" ???

Actually we have no idea yet...

We do know other countries will get a charity bead, it could also be the case that certain countries get their own charity bead. We hear rumors that Canada is working on a design of their own.

But at this point this coin is available from 1st September through 30th November in Germany which leads to think it will not be released elsewhere at the same time.

it would be nice if each country gets their own charity coin, It would mean we could collect "coins" and in the end have a total charity bracelet., i.e. the green glass bead and now the coin.

A nice touch, I know the kimono set was part but so little was given to charity and I don't think this was approached by all countries.

However a charity bracelet built up slowly.. thats nice. In fact the green smiley.. was quite hard to match in with my designs.. not if there are two coins accompanying it..they also make very nice spacers.

Another point, if I read the press release right, the charity aspect is only from 1st sept, to end november and its 20 euros per bead, so thats quite a nice charity aspect.. 10 coins and you donate 200 euros to a childrens charity.. mmmm if I could I would but not certain. Nice thought and its the thought that counts I will stick to 2 coins for now.. till I get to see them in my silver tarnished hands.

i just went to trollbeaduniverse to see the retailer in my area and i didn't see any info re: the coin. is this because my "local" retailer is in the usa and not in germany??

also, i tried to access the weblink to the german shop and it wouldn't let me in... does anyone know how i can order the coin directly from the german shop??

I haven't tried to order it yet myself. Somebody said they thought she was out of stock, but she still has it listed.

I just ordered two thru Nadia for myself and a friend. So excited!! I will probably buy another when they are available in the states too, but I can't wait to see these in person.!

I LOVE the idea of having several charity coins though.. I remember my playing with my fathers old coin collections as a little girl so would naturally need to get them ALL for that reason hehe x

I don't know but if I had to guess it would be $59 US.

It seems that the price in Euros is also the price in dollars. We do a brisk business with Trollbeads lovers on vacation buying Trollbeads from us while there here because it is so much cheaper. This is the reason we can't ship overseas.

I've heard the price will likely be $ 69,- which is approximately same as current German price of € 59,- -/- 19% VAT. Makes sense...
