World Tour UK - pictures added
I've just arrived home from a break in the UK where I managed to visit a "couple" of TB shops!!
Yesterday I got chatting with a lovely shop owner who thought it fit to show me the letter from Fabletrading detailing the UK World beads. The photocopied sheet included pictures and prices so here goes, as far as I can remember....(may not be 100% accurate on price).
Red / Blue / thin White striped glass - £26.
Scottish Kilt - silver - £35.
Welsh Love spoon - silver - £42.
Mad Hatter's Tea Party - silver - £47.
I love glass beads but I think the silvers will be the winners in this collection!
....and we haven't got long to wait now!

Well these concepts are not bowling me over. I will wait and see what they look like before I pass final judgement though. Thanks so much for passing the info on though.

Thanks for the info!
Mad Hatter most likely is going to be a variation on the Magician...
And I bet the red in the glass is going to be orangey again...
Curious about the kilt bead though, and Most Curious about the Love Spoons! Wasn't there a People's bead entry on them?

Angeltroll, you clever, CLEVER lady!!!
Can you tell us more about the lovespoon one? Is it as pretty as the actual lovespoons themselves?

Wow, I'm thrilled about the first news coming in... TY!
Though... are we sure that it is not an April Fool's joke?
Too obvious?

LL - The picture was more of a cube with a lock on the surface.
The kilt was a pleated skirt with a waistband.
I'm sure the Mad Hatter's Tea Party was full of detail.
P.S. I thought I was missing out being on holiday without my laptop! If I had thought you lot were in the dark I would have taken more notice!!

I'm certain the catalogue listing will pop up on Macs tomorrow or here first.

I did go and look at some pictures of Welsh love spoons to make sure I had the right thing in my head. In doing so I came across this:
http://www.carvingpatterns.com/spoons/images/lovespoon1.jpg
There could be a fabulous lock adapted from either of these--especially the one on the right. Sometimes one thing just leads to something different.

I'm Welsh and very familiar with lovespoons but the picture I saw reminded me more of the plainer lock on the Italian WT bead.

They always say a Scotsman wears nothing under his kilt, and I have seen the naughty dragon....I am just wondering...

My daughter, TrollTech, made a woven bead that looked like a Welsh love spoon for the People's bead last year.

You got the scoop!!! So great - TFS!!! You should go on holiday more often (actually, fess up, it wasn't a holiday but a tour of TB shops of England, correct???!!!)
With a surname like mine, I have to get the kilt:
LOL!!! My husband wears boxers under his (sorry to disappoint!)
Looking forward to seeing them IRL but nervous about the glass!

I just googled "welsh spoon", I didn´t knew what it looks like. It is a wonderful pattern. I think the bead will be smashing.

Re: World Tour UK - pictures added
Well done for finding out so quickly.
Not sure that I fancy these beads.
I don't want a red white and blue striped glass at all. It is utterly boring.
How can they make a good silver kilt bead when they don't have any colours to produce the crucial tartan effect with? Surely it will look like a skirt? Won't a skirt floating around without hairy Scottish legs below it and a manly torso above look stupid?
Love Spoons are charming so this one might be OK.
Will have to wait and see what the Mad Hatter's Tea Party is like. It might be great but it might be bitty and fussy like the Baskets of Puppies and Kittens or IMO ugly like the Magician.
I am really furious that they have left out Northern Ireland. Why call it a UNITED KINGDOM set and then leave out one of the 4 kingdoms? I am English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh by ancestry and these beads do not represent me. There should have been a proper Irish bead instead of the dull striped glass.
