Great idea Strike, maybe you could thread a TB leather through one or two links as well Very Happy
I like both of these ideas! Smart trollies!bounce

I had a good laugh at the comparison of the rubber links to shower curtain rings.  Well, well, inspiration is everywhere.  Twisted Evil  I was too busy thinking how tacky and cheap they looked to come up with any specific comparisons.  And $31 for one plain silver link is completely ridiculous.  If I did end up getting one or two of the individual links that I liked the looks of, I would go to a beading store and buy some lengths of silver chains to make a bracelet for them.  Although someone's idea of the silk actually sounded nice too.  But I certainly won't be making an X bracelet.  These look more like something that a kid would wear to me, with the cheap rubber and the really clunky and/or cutesy beads/links.  That's not to say that there weren't individual links I liked, but the line as a whole, not so much.

Agree I feel kinda the same. I might be able to make something work for myself that I'd want to wear but I'm not sure I want to bother and it would be very expensive. I don't care for the mash of more than two different types of materials, it looks cluttered and the opposite of elegant and simple, I guess. A link on a leather bracelet might work for me. The humorous animals are way too cute for me, (I don't mind a touch of cute but these are large and seem more for teens) but some of the individual links were good.

I love the Scorpio, but there are none retailers in Canada and Perlen is out of the X so my budget is safe. I'm not going to do anything extra to buy it. Yes it is very nice designs and great ideas and if I could find the store near by I most likely to spend my money. But it is always far away from Canada. So I just wait for new bracelet concept from Pandora. There are plenty of stores with very nice staff. I have enough difficulties in my love to overcome. The availability of new X Tb is not my priority. If they are not going to expend their products I couldn't help them.

I sawit today.  I stopped in a shop in my town's center that sells mostly Alex & Ani.  They are a small Tb dealer, no uniques, and maybe one or two or each production bead.  On the counter next to the TB display was X by Trollbeads.  I was so surprised as according to the retailer search on the X by Trollbeads website, the closest shop to me is 6-7 hours away!  I didn't care for it at all in person even though I thought I liked it from the photos.  It was very light weight and just didn't seem as high quality as my trollbeads.  I have a feeling my 15 year old daughter will like the rubber links.

If you go to the retailer tab on the X website, you can search for retailers in Canada. Last time I looked, there were a couple and they are updating. There are retailers in the US who carry them but cannot sell online so you have to call. It mystifies me why the retailer information is not better updated on the day of the release. Interestingly, I have seen more than the usual number of ads for Pandora in my local papers recently, but none for TB or X.

Doesn't rubber accelerate the tarnishing process of silver? Why would they combine the two...?

Does vulcanised (sulphur treated) rubber do that too? It has been used for jewellery since the 19th century.

I think it is the sulphur in rubber that is the culprit....perhaps there is no sulphur in the X coating?

I would hope there is no sulphur in their rubber. Would be nice if they disclosed that up front.

Steffans describe it as vulcanised.

As I expected my 15 year old daughter loved X by Trollbeads.  I let her put together a bracelet for a birthday present.  She chose all black with 2 bronze links. It's definitely not for me, but I like how it looks on her.
