Re: Armadillos
I had a similar experience with Steffans during their new year sale of retired beads, on more than on occasion I bought something only to have them mail me and inform me it was noloonger available (and at least once the item then became available again within 24 hours - very annoying!). I think the only real alternative these stores have is ebay and then we would all complain about hiked prices!
I feel a bit sorry for the retailers, they get stuck with ugly OOAK's that nobody is prepared to pay for and then the few nice ones they seem t cause endless upset in one way or another.

Macrow had the same problem for quite some time before it was successfully sorted and there were complaints from similarly disappointed customers.
Maybe the answer is not to announce listing times for new ooak beads to avoid our onslaught en masse?
I fully understand the disappointment of those who have lost out on coveted beads, and especially armadillos, but I think it's unrealistic to expect JJ to have an endless supply of these particular beads to enable them to rectify the problem.
My issue really is that people should be treated fairly - if the problem was sorted out for Brightonbelle and Reive and they were both offered other dillos to purchase, why then did I not get the same good service? We placed our order on Friday and received no communication until 4.30pm on Monday - 3 days later! I was oblivious to there being any problems and was just looking forward to receiving my beads! All I would like, really is to be able to purchase my three dillos and I would even take alternative colours! I would appreciate it if someone from JJ could get in touch with me on here to discuss this. I would just like the same equal service that others have received, that is all

Re: Armadillos
I truly understand your disappointment SilverBells, and there is no excuse for the lack of communication and it taking 3 days to let you know the order could not be completed.
Maybe after rectifying others' orders, there simply weren't any more armadillos to offer? I could be wrong, but I haven't seen any in the daily listings this week.
Have they not responded to your complaint at all?

Re: Armadillos
If Silverbells was contacted first then there should have been Armadillos to offer her as replacements at that point.

Re: Armadillos
The whole discussion about JJ's double sales stared here because SilverBells was upset about losing her three dillos, so it's definitely a double kick in the teeth if everyone else has had replacements but she hasn't . SilverBells should have been the first to be offered replacements imo, hopefully they'll rectify it now though!

I have no special OOAKs and was so excited when we made our order - I feel really let down. I know they are only beads but I think their customer service is very poor
They did that to me last year with a hot pink dillo, I got a 5% off my next purchase voucher as a sorry.

That'll be me half-reading a thread again
I wonder if SilverBell's complaint was handled by a different member of staff?

Yes, I've had the 5% voucher offer due to a double-sale too - can't remember what the bead was now though though I remember completely missing the limited edition stones listing - I don't think I recovered from that for a fortnight!

thank you Sam but I am afraid of it being a mad scramble and I will come away empty handed - I really don't need any more stress at the moment! I just want to buy three dillos!
Silverbells, I have a cherry pinky coloured armadillo I bought from a fellow forum member here. I don't use it as much as I should so if you'd like it for the same rrp as JJ were selling their ooaks, you're more than welcome to it.

i think it is good that JJ is tried to put things right on here tonight. This is a way of good service and that they have lisen to the customer and even they only did join 29 March. I hope you will all get the armadillos you will wish for.

Re: Armadillos
I wasn't aiming that at you Paixxx, sorry, I was just being soapboxy I just feel bad for SilverBells being the only one who wasn't recompensed this time round!
Good it's being sorted at last, it's very disappointing...and I've never been offered a replacement, hang on, that's a point...two dillos, a bubbles, a grey spotty, a fossil coral, smooth lab, aqua terra jasper, murky watercolour errm I think that's it

Reading back, I think I was the one being soapboxy - I've been doing the trollbead scramble a long time now and I've probably just become accustomed to being left empty-handed I haven't taken into account that others haven't experienced that yet.
Thinking about it, I think it was a grey bubble bead I lost out on with JJ, and then lo and behold Acotis listed one a few days later
When it comes to Armadillos, I often question whether I actually really love them or the thrill of the chase. I had a whole row of the darn things and stared at them contentedly often, but they hardly ever made it onto my bracelets. Having said that, I have 3 now that I would never part with - pale pink, brown and proper red
Sometimes I wish I could be like my sister-in-law who buys her production beads from our local LD, doesn't even know/care what they're called, and loves them all the same.

Re: Armadillos
The way to solve this problem would be for Troll to produce tons and tons of 'Dillos in all colours and send them to all retailers, then we would all be able to get hold of them and after a while we would all be sick of them and would stop chasing them and get on with our lives !
I really can't understand why they don't make more of them, it costs them the same to make a complicated orange fugly as it does to make a 'Dillo, one they can sell a hundred times over the other will sit unsold on the rack for ever

Re: Armadillos
I must admit I gave up on JJ some time ago. I thought I'd purchased 6 LE gem stones, 2 AT, 2 lava stone and 2 fossil coral only, to be told after the payment went through that they were accidently listed as in stock. They seemed quite puzzled themselves as to how this had happened. I wasn't offered anything, not even a 5% voucher for my disappointment. I guess it would just be good if these retailers were more consistent with their customer service when things go wrong.

I agree with this! Dealers have to buy ooaks in sets too I believe, so they end up with alot of unwanted beads and a few good ones. Trollbeads must know what beads aare popular.

Re: Armadillos
I have heard that someone at Trollbeads in Denmark chose a whole order of beads specially for one of the UK shops following their request for specific types of beads. This was then taken apart by the UK distributor, who re-threaded the kits putting 1 of the good beads with 5 of their existing unsellable old stock. The shop knew that they had been cheated and sent them all back.

It would make more sense for them to make dillo kits in mixed colours, they would have no problem selling them and no left overs!

Yeah, why don't they? it's such a no brainer. Dillos are like chocolate, I have never met one I didn't like.

Re: Armadillos
I have just been catching up on this. I know I gave a heads up elsewhere about the dillos as I happened to browse online and saw them-luckily for me I'm not so mad on dillos- I like them but some more than others . However I thought although they weren't for me I know how many Trollies love their dillos so put out he info, I know this made somone very happy which is lovely.
I have to say in fairness to JJ I have always had great customer service from them .I think the whole thing is ridiculous anyway as I gather that the dillos are actually relatively easy to make and I think their popularity is their simplicity so they are very versatile .I cannot understand why TB don't just make batches in loads of colours to make customers happy. I only managed to ever get 2 in Macrows listings and got so fed up with the whole thing gave up. I have recently acquired 2 beautiful dillos, one white and one cream from Macrows own bead range , not Tb but I don't care -it's only a brand and they were cheaper than TB and I really like them- they still have some dillo beads though not in colours that work for me. I pleased some people got great beads for a sensible price ( note sensible not good as I think TB are overpriced in UK ) but I am sorry that people missed out and were let down.
I think it's admirable that JJ have responded and take their customer service seriously but really this shows just how badly TB HQ/Fable Trading does not!

Hello, I have read all of your comments, due to Joshua James being a new member to this site I am unable to reply to your private messages on here but if you can email me direct (our email address is on the site, these emails come to myself anyway) with any question or problems you may have I will do my very best to help you.
Unfortunately we don't get informed when the one of a kind beads are to be loaded onto the site so the best thing to do is to check the site on a regular basis.
