Brightonbelle wrote:niceday wrote:Brightonbelle what colour was the one that you tried to buy
It was a very very dark red that looked almost black
I am a very happy person now because the lovely lady at Joshua James has sorted it all out for me and I am looking forward to receiving 3 Dillos for £63 (dark red brown/dark green/grey).
I think it may have been me that got the one that you tried to buy !!
Its great that you have got sorted with 3 lovely Dillos

Re: Armadillos
Mine have come and they are fantastic.
The dark green is more like deep deep turquoise. Not sure what it will go with (Lake Eye closest) but it is divine.
The grey one is a subtle dark tone and wonderfully translucent.
The red is dark and dramatic but opaque.

I know what you mean It is a little bright today though I think I've taken some of my best pictures of beads when I've taken them in a hurry and without posing them
Looking forward to seeing them soon.

Re: Armadillos
Hello, it's Sam from Joshua James Jewellery.
I have a message from our MD regarding the OOAK beads, he apologises for any inconvenience and disappointment caused when trying to purchase these beads. We are trying to resolve the matter as quickly as possible, the problem was when people were ordering the same bead within seconds of each other. Until we have resolved this issue we will not be listing any new OOAK beads. We thank you in anticipation for your patience and continued support.

Hi Sam, thanks for posting this but I, personally am still feeling pretty upset about it all - I would have been happy if I had received the same good service as Brightonbelle received in being able to have replacement OOAK armadillos like she was given. I did phone your store and ask about this but no-one was able to do this for me

thank you Sam but I am afraid of it being a mad scramble and I will come away empty handed - I really don't need any more stress at the moment! I just want to buy three dillos!

I have worked out how to get the red and green ones onto the same bracelet so you will be seeing those relatively soon.

I had great service from them yesterday when I fell foul of the same issue of purchasing at the same time as someone else.
I still think the issue is the obsession with dillos

Re: Armadillos
They were great with me, phoned within 15 minutes of my placing the order, then email ed me (I was at work so failed to answer my phone) explaining that the dillo (yes of course if *had* to be a dillo causing the issues) I had ordered had been bought by someone else seconds before me but taht they had a close alternative and would I be happy to receive that instead. Within half an hour of my confirming that this was ok I got a second email confirming dispatch.
I honestly don't have a bad word to say about JJ's at the moment.
Of course the other 8 ( ) non dillo OOAKs which I have purchased this week have caused me no issues at all - not sure if that just means I have horrible taste and nobody else wanted my beads

Re: Armadillos
To a certain extent, JJ has my sympathies - they have seriously underestimated the numbers of trollbead nutters who will be all be refreshing at the same time waiting to 'add' to cart.
Macrow had the same problem for quite some time before it was successfully sorted and there were complaints from similarly disappointed customers.
Maybe the answer is not to announce listing times for new ooak beads to avoid our onslaught en masse?
I fully understand the disappointment of those who have lost out on coveted beads, and especially armadillos, but I think it's unrealistic to expect JJ to have an endless supply of these particular beads to enable them to rectify the problem.

The Macrow problem isn't really sorted out properly either. They have switched off their Wishlist but two people can still put the same bead in their basket at the same time and think that they have got a right to have it. I don't think that they can both actually buy it like you can at JJ but it still causes huge annoyance.

You're right BB - I suppose I meant that the problem has been sorted out to certain extent but as you say, it's still far from perfect. Given Macrow's experience in listing ooaks online for several years, and the work they've put into trying to fix the problem, I'd say it's a difficult issue to fix 100%.
