Re: August release
I believe that we should be expecting the People's Bead winner to be in this release.
Last August brought the Lakeside Forest Kit, the new zodiacs, etc.

Re: August release
It's not been that consistant. The last two years have seen two new kits (2010: Lakeside, Contemporary, 2009: Desert and Caravan) and some silvers the year before that it was just the gemstones and a few Viking themed silvers. I am guessing another big release since we had a big retiral not that long ago but who knows. I am always excited by them and the last two Autumn releases have been right up my alley!

Re: August release
I have only been collecting for about 8 months now so I haven't been around long enough to get an idea of what kind of numbers are introduced for new beads each year, or what a "big" retirement might be. It seems like a lot of new beads already being introduced with the world tour. I can't keep up now! Should I be planning a bank heist? Some education, please.

Small silvers and Glass 1 to encourage us to buy more expensive items? There are quite a few glass beads that I wouldn't miss.

I was given the impression that it will be lots of silver, I think they are gradually getting rid of the ugly (ie good and interesting silvers) and leaning towards the pretty.

Oh well - I expect that there will be time to buy those that we want before they all vanish.

Noooo... the last thing I need is the silver beads still on my wishlist being retired and appearing at silly prices on you-know-where I like the interesting un-pretty ones and I'm rather afraid wildthing might be right... and Bb for that matter

Re: August release
I think the last many releases all had 2 glass kits? I hope we'll get that again, I'm dying from excitement.
The number of silver and gold varies it seems.
Curious about the retirement as well, but I think that might not be before beginning of 2012 along with the spring release? Last retirement was 2010 with the spring release then I think?
I know I'll get hit by the "OMG it's retired so I must get it while I can" - fever

Re: August release
They can retire the small Elephant, Kitten, Bird, Music Box and entire Alphabet for all I care. Ditto the Magician, Find your Pet, Panda, Soccer Ball and all the ones to do with knitting and sewing.

Sounds like fun at first but then I realized it might soon become the "how many people can we offend list". Yikes!!!

I think that is true, the wonderous thing about Troll, used to be it's diversity, like pretty and sparkly? Pandora - tick
Chamilla -tick
Loads of other brands - tick
And yes, Troll - tick
Like dark, quirky, ugly, odd?
Then you have only Troll and soon only retired Troll.
For me, I am at the lucky point where I have pretty much all I want, in fact visits to my bead box in the last few months, consisted of 'oh no, this is too much, too much content and too much worth' and I have sold a lot of beads recently.
I fully expect to not like anything from the new release, I haven't really liked much from any new release since I started buying two and a half years ago But that is fine, I have a nice base of older and old Troll and there are plently more beads in the world to chase

Re: August release
Oh well. I did like the fall 2009. That one still had some "trollish" things in it.
And the trolltree.
Last fall was abit of a let down but I like to keep my hopes up that they will atleast do some pretty and some troll.
I like kitten and knitting stuff. They are cute but well made. And they are designed by one of my favourites Søren Nielsen.
Don´t like the High heel but all to his/her own. I don´t mind that there are beads that I DON´T want... Saves me some money.

Re: August release
Please no one get worried about retirements, last time I had just started collecting and I got very worried, but all those retired beads are still around for normal prices, so you will still be able to get the beads you want even if they do retire.

Re: August release
Retirals are usually every two years so the next one should be Spring 2012. No need to panic it takes ages for all the beads to dissapear (especialy the silvers).
I don't think Troll is getting very cutesy, there are "cute" beads but there always have been. There are still plenty of abstract and design oriented beads in there too. I think people see what they want to see sometimes.
Presumably they will retire the beads that don't sell that well as they always do. It's always interesting to me how something suddenly becomes more interesting or beautiful after they stop making it.

I'm guilty of this one....or why would I have a Clown and a Big Bird (hope not to offend anyone) sitting somewhere in my bead box????

I have a Clown too, I was given it for free but it sits in my Beadbox unworn and unloved because everyone in my family HATES it!! Poor Clown, he's not really that bad, for a clown.

I vote for the retirement of all the numbered Cherubs. If you NEED a cherub, one without a number should do. My LD doesn't even stock them anymore as no one buys them.
