About Holland...
We all know the common symbols related to Holland like windmills, clogs and tulips. Not surprisingly we have also beads of those. When it comes to other typical dutch 'things'... most of the beads available are, let's put it nicely, not very attractive to a collector...
But what about these...
Though I have to admit that the starfish and the seashell are not typical Dutch, these are closely related to the beads above...
Designed and produced in Holland!

Re: About Holland...
the button beads.. now to me that is very dutch.. perhaps the buttons are more north european influence? starfish, and shells.. in two words..

Re: About Holland...
I like the shell bead! I'm allergic to mussels, so a mosselfeest has a whole different meaning for me .
Re: About Holland...
The mossel stew is correct, and the other bead indeed a 'button' bead. It is a silver adaption of the Astrantia in dutch also called Zeeuws Knoopje, a traditional jewelry design which is rather distinctive for the south western part of the Netherlands, Zeeland.
The beads are perfect to make up this 'dutch bracelet'...

Re: About Holland...
These are all dutch, apart from the seahorse. Designed and produced by a local jeweler in Zeeland, the Netherlands. Unfortunately he only ships to the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. But if help is needed obtaining (one of) these beads, let me know. They're comparable to Trollbeads silver II and III pricing.

Is this jeweller by any chance located in Zierikzee?

Yes, this jeweler has a shop in Zierikzee. Haven't contacted them about the post yet.
They surprised me with their light speed shipping of the beads, which I just had to show off...

Re: About Holland...
I spent last weekend in Zeeland and I visited Zierikzee with my family and came across a closed jeweller with trollbeads in the window, so that's why I'm asking

Never been to zeeland.. looking at my trip to holland.. what was zierikzee like? parking easy? might bike down from eindhoven for the morning when im down there in may
Re: About Holland...
I saw them some time ago! I believe they are made in order of a jewellery store in a part of the netherlands many tourist go due to the beach. it reminds me of my own childhood: three weeks at the coast; beach and sea!! At that time there were a lot of starfish and jelly fish! It brings up a lot of memmory's! Quite big, and probably heavy beads?

Re: About Holland...
What is the current price of the Zeeuwse Knoopje? Anyone? I ddnot manage to go to Zierikzee last time..
Re: About Holland...
The beads are rather large and heavy. A Zeeuws knoopje costs € 45,- excl. € 7,- registered shipping. Hefty shipping costs....
