Knot lock - broken :-(
Hi there
My Knot lock broke yesterday, the clasp is all floppy
It was on my leather necklace and I didn't notice until I went to take it off, so thankfully no beads were lost!!
I have not had the lock that long, but I can't remember exactly where I brought it and of course I can't find the receipt, has anyone had the same happen to them and how much did it cost to fix?
I am not sure why but I have always slightly distrusted this lock, daft I know as it is made the same as the lace and fower locks I have, but I rarely wore it on a bracelet for that reason.
Thank you

I would contact the Mothership and see what they say.
Let us know how you get on.

I have never had any problems with mine but I have heard of quite a few other failures of this lock...........
Re: Knot lock - broken :-(
On all forums members are complaining about broken knot locks.
I wear mine for more than a year now, always with full bracelets and never had any problems so far.

The freya knot lock is probably the most fragile of TB locks. It's beautiful, but fragile.
I would take it back to the shop you bought it from. TB knows there's an issue with that lock, so there's a chance they will replace it. I've had two freya knot locks replaced that way, no questions asked.

I wonder why it is so fragile - it looks as robust as the rest of them........
Re: Knot lock - broken :-(
Just a quick update, I contacted D4E where I brought the lock and they have replaced it with no problem at all, yaay!! I think my LD could learn some Customer Service from them!

My Freya Lock has been great and I have not had any problems. I have had them for two years. Good luck with the new one.

Re: Knot lock - broken :-(
Last thursday I went to my LD for new chains and hopefully a new lock.
I always try to get a freya lock since it is one of my favorites. And every time I get disappointed.
I bought my current and only freya lock back in 2006. Looking at the current locks at my LDs these are looking bad and very fragile. And therefor way too expensive!
Not at all like the one I have. The best ones I've got are the art nouveau lock (or tulip lock), my freya 2006 lock, the anniversary troll lock and the greyhound locks, all old (re-) production...

Gaaa! Note to self: Never wear Freya lock without safety chain!
Thank goodness you didn't lose any of your beads!

Re: Knot lock - broken :-(
I've had 2 Freya locks and both have failed. I don't use it anymore except on a lightweight necklace.

I have a Freya lock and it seems fine but now I am scared...how can I tell if it will break? It seems strong :-(

Re: Knot lock - broken :-(
Oooh..guess I'll be investing in some more safety chains. Losing a few beads would be bad enough if it happened to break loose and you couldn't find them all after a "scattering". I would just be mortified at the thought of losing an entire finished bracelet! I've already lost a small package after a stop to my LDs. It contained the ballerina pendant and a silver chain bracelet. I had just exchanged them both so they were the only things in the package. That took days of kicking myself to get over.
