Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
That monstrous beast.... when I came near him and tried to take a pic, he took a bungee jump of 50cm, I jumped and screeched and almost fell from my table and then he was playing dead hanging there on his rope. And my second chance came, I ran to the kitchen, fetched a glass and caught him. Wohooooo
Here he is still playing dead
And here after trying to ecape the glass
Guess he will have to rely on his bungee abilities when taking the plunge from the balcony
He may be smaller than expacted from my tale but sometimes size doesn't matter only speed does

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
Minty he is tiny , did you put him outside or simply burnt the house down? You would have a hard time getting all of Bert's legs under that glass. It's a shame he wasn't fast enough to get out from under my feet.
BTW, I really love these silly conversations.

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
Ist doch bloß ein Kuli
He has already taken the plunge, will probably land on fist floor balcony and terrorize the neighbours.
@ splinty - the big ones are not such a problem for me... because they don't make it up to fourth floor ... and they are living with you anyways

I know he is tiny.... but he was so fast and that is my real fear.... 8 legged spiders running or jumping with enormous speed...

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
Uh oh, glad I missed that picture. I have resorted to spraying a homemade spider repellant using peppermint oil. And I must admit I haven't seen those creepy speedy black long legged jumpy (?) brrrr... ones for some time now. And my home smells good too but now there are way to many mosquito's... Always something, huh...
The bangle is delicious!
I was about to add something... But the modification option gave a glimpse of what was coming... That size is simply horrifying, I think to many people.

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
Then better look away now sita: (scary pic gone)
I guess this is the spider living in your house splinty?
(Imagine enormous hairy rainforest/splinty's bathroom spider of the size of a turkey, which actually looks only half as scary to me as the tiny jumpy one)

I like the furry ones.... the fur conceals the creepyness of the extremities
When you can measure yours, they must be really tame and not jumpy

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
No the really big ones just sit in the same place for days at a time. Then they disappear. Then they appear again in the same place. They're part of the furniture now
No no no to furry spiders. They still move creepily and cringily

That was horrific, thank you for removing, Minty. Though I can live it when a thread gives a warning at least.
Wow, that you're able to analyze its anatomics is incomprehensible to me. I'd simply faint.

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
lol.... ever since that uni trip to morocco, spiders are really not my worst fear anymore... but I still wouldn't touch one willingly, but looking at pictures is ok... you should have seen me jumping and screeching when I cought the tiny one... you would have been rolling on the floor laughing
