In Memory of Bert the Spider
In memory of Bert the spider, that I flattened by accident.
(really sorry about that Bert, please don't give me 7 years bad luck)
Be safe in the knowledge Bert, that my foot still hurts where you bit me.

Great memorial for Bert! My DH makes me kill any spider that breaches the fortress of the house. I try to sneak them outside, but he says they already know the way in and must be removed from existence. He also calls them man eaters.....

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
I love it and would wear it everyday. I have 2 of them, love them!
We never kill them, but remove them gently our of the house... We say 'ragno porta guadagno' alias spider brings earning, so if you want money don't kill them... My Dh by the way refuses to touch them aracnofobia

Love the gold/silver effect. Quite posh for Bert.

I thought 7 years bad luck was for breaking a mirror? For squishing a spider you should be getting 7 years good luck for the good deed.
Great combo and a fine tribute to Bert.

Very nice!
Was Bert a pet or an unfortunate visitor? I would have flattened him too, but not by accident if he had bitten me.

I love your bangle so much! What a great idea! I enjoy spiders and watching their webs in the yard. But in MY house, they get murdered, sometimes I try and take them outside on a piece of paper, but usually it is murder.

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
He was a wild house spider that I stood on with bare feet, while making a cup of tea. I had watched him running around the house for about a month, but I thought he's not bothering me, I won't bother him. I actually named him Bert.
I had to flick my foot 3 times to get him off, yep, I squished him good.

Great Bangle! The spider bead is one of my favourites, all year round!
Inside the house I rarely find a spider, the cats eat them up... but outside there are always some and I try to leave them, the cats love to watch them, however... they make quite a bit of dirt on the window sill ...spider poo is hard to remove...

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
By the way since panda posted of her spider bite a few weeks ago - and I had spider nightmares that night, I have a spidey visitor under my ceiling. Maybe it's the reincarnation of Bert, he comes out every night and is watching me right now from above and waits in his web for pray. I tried to catch him once but he immediately fled and hid himself under a wooden panel. But as unlucky as I had been trying to catch him, as unlucky he is as his web is still empty. I hope he starves soon.

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
I never kill spiders, always catch 'em and put 'em outside.
For those afraid of spiders, I've heard that on earth you're never more than 5 feet away from one. (Not sure that's true, don't think there'd be any in the Arctic and Antarctic, but of course that's not likely where you all are... ) heh heh.

Re: In Memory of Bert the Spider
I've been living with at least 20 mahoosive spiders for about a month now! I've gotten fed up with keep putting them out...except for the bath ones...every night before my bath I put one out the window, then the next night there's another one sitting in there! My favourite one was the other day when I was washing up and one suddenly peeked over the top of the bowl at me, cheeky so and so . I've had such an overload of them this year, they've been like permanent wall and floor decorations (sometimes they stay in the exact same place for days, I've begun to think of them as ornaments ), I think I might have got over my phobia completely
Luckily I love the TB spider bead too, I love his drapey legs and your bangle looks perfect, all graceful and sculptural pandabee RIP Bert
