Last of the Mohicans bracelet
I had so much fun putting this bracelet together, the idea was born around last Christmas when I got a rare version of the book ...and many months and some lucky purchases, clam drilling, wax carving and 3D printing later... I could finally put it together.
I enjoyed our little guessing game so much and here now comes the inspiration for the bracelet and somewhat resolution to the game and the missing beads of course. Hope you like it.
Labradorite & Brew of the Moor for the Adirondacks
Forest glass & Maple Leaf clasp for the forests
Log cabin for Cameron's Cabin
Axe head for Magua's Axe
Water glass for the waterfalls
4 Foxes for Magua - le renard subtil - the wily fox
Bougainvillea for Louis Antoine de Bougainville who served under Montcalm
Green/blue glass for Massacre Valley
black glass for Magua's warpaint
Canoe for canoes
Dreamcatcher & Quahog shell for Wampum and Indian village
Midgard Serpent & Elk for Chingachgook - le gros serpent - the great snake & Uncas - le cerf agile - the bounding elk
flintlock pistol for Hawkeye - la longue carabine - the long rifle
Sandstones for cliffs
Pendant for Magua's earring (yes he is my favourite character )
Final bracelet.. sorry for my lousy photography skills, will try again with some sunshine
Beads from left to right:
Novobeads maple leaf clasp
TB brew of the moor
TB sandstone (rehomed from Yohanna )
Novobeads dreamcatcher
Glassbonbon earth
selfmade canoe
Luccicare earth (rehomed from Splinty )
selfmade pendant
Glassbonbon earth
Viking foxes
Moonbibbels earth
selfmade axe
TB sandstone
Park City Jewellers elk bead
Liana barrel labradorite
vintage gold flintlock pistol charm (bought from an antiques dealer)
Novobeads log cabin
Moonbibbels earth
TB bougainvillea
Glassbonbon earth
glammybeads peacock pearls
self-drilled piece of quahog clam shell
Glassbonbon leaves
TB midgard serpent
Phewww that's it

Thank youuuuu As for the score... I used to listen to the somewhat 8 minute movie version at times when I could not fall asleep, always great for calming down

Re: Last of the Mohicans bracelet
dear Minty,
thank you so much for this challenge, it was a great one!!!!
love all the beads and now it really makes sense with all the pictures, I really can see how much it must have been fun to assemble this great bracelet, what a great theme for your combo!!!
I am completely in love with the canoe, and log cabin and the elk,
you must be very happy with your own designed beads, wish I could do that,
almost feel like getting the book now and read it again (read it as a child and think I have seen it too, but I am not sure)
Great thread, great challenge, THANK YOU!

Minty, this is so imaginative, so thoughtful, I love it. They go together so well and I especially love your 3d beads, they set it off to a tee. Beautiful.

Thank you Catsworld
I put together all the pics so you could see what I was thinking and imagining when I chose the beads.
I'm glad you like the canoe, I carved the axe head first and needed an enternity to get it done and get the angles right and the little slit in the middle and then polishing it was soo tedious, the canoe felt much easier, I somewhat carved it freely out of the block, only messed it up once when I tried to carve some details into the 'hull'... had remove the mess again... I wish I would have had some jeweller tools, I used a swiss pocket knife and several files including a nail file and for polishing a little nylon bead bag

Thank you I regard them as my cherry on the ice cream although they feel more like a 'chunk'

Absolutely totally stunning! This I call creativity and dedication! I love the story and the movies, old and new, I just wish that the last Mohican would not have had to be the last one... That part always makes me really sad.

Re: Last of the Mohicans bracelet
I'm wondering if I could find someone in the UK who could do the same thing. It's such a brilliant idea, which creates a truly individual bracelet.

What an amazingly clever bracelet! I wish had the ability to think ahead and plan out a themed bracelet like that. Thank you for showing the glass against the pictures; you've captured the colours so well.
