A substantial surprise bonus at work allowed the purchase of my dream gold bead: Gold Whorl (Happy next Birthday/Christmas/Mother'sDay to me, lol).  I'm finding gold a little difficult to combine but fortunately we have an assortment of metals to choose from these days:

I wish I knew something to tell you!  A couple has a table of jewelry at an annual conference I go to and I finally broke down & bought the bead.  I think the metal is bronze.  The stone is some kind of opal, I think.  Sorry I'm not any more help!
