Oh Santa, put me on the Naughty List =o
I try to be "Nice" but this TB kiosk is right out in the middle of the mall every time I go in there to do some Christmas shopping, you see.
This is the most recent damage I've done.

I'm not even sure I'll wear it. It's not colors that are very typical for me or go with anything in my closet. It's all symmetrical when I am as irregular as it gets. And, I don't even have a chain left to put it on -- I just can't make myself take the ones I like apart. But at least if you do leave a lump of coal in my stocking I've got the present part covered myself. It's that Girl Scout training on being self-reliant.

If you really prefer asymmetry, as do I, you can always send me a few of those beads. Just enough to make it a bit off-kilter.

Those Viking knots are my favorite silver. Did you really get them locally? I sent all the way to
Denmark for my one and only. Love your beads!

Yes. My local corporate store is one of the outlets for that shower of newly discovered "retired" beads. Can you imagine the temptation?!Nancy wrote:Those Viking knots are my favorite silver. Did you really get them locally? I sent all the way to Denmark for my one and only. Love your beads!
I have wanted VK since I first saw one and fully accepted that I'd never have one because I wasn't willing to pay a premium to get one. Then there was a cubby full in one of those trays. How could I resist? ...not that they were cheap! That's definitely part of the "naughty" bit.
I got 2 last week and this morning I went back and took the 2 they had left.
Those are the Swarovski elements I've been using as spacers. That particular pair are clear crystal triangles.soxfan wrote:what the heck are the beads next to chai bud?
I like that they have huge holes and so they move around on the chains. And they break the rule of being the same size and shape as the glass.
If you're not familiar with them you can see what's available here. Lots of bead retailers carry some sizes/shapes/colors including Michael's in the US and Canada if there's one near you. Best bet I've found, tho, is the online bead sellers. They have a broad range of styles and colors.
Thanks, guys. ...or should I be upset that you're enabling? Since I'm being so naughty I might tell Santa on you.

Bead Santa himself will give you Tupilaks, Amber and WT beads next time... I am still shellshocked at what I have read!

Looks like you have company, Soxfan!
That is a collection worth being naughty for! The Viking knots are splendid, the pearls are always elegant and chai bud and silver mountain are versatile. Tell Santa that Trader Joe's has yummy coals for your stocking (dark chocolate covered peppermint bits).

Those pearls are absolute crap that I got at Michael's (do you know that US/Canadian crafts chain?). Six "pearls" for about $3. I'm a whore; I'll use anything that fits the bill.trollmoll wrote:That is a collection worth being naughty for! Ironically, the TJ holiday Fearless Flyer just came in this afternoon's mail. But, shhhhh, don't encourage Santa by letting him know about the coal.
You know, I wanted to get 3 more -- odd numbers always seem so much more graceful than even numbers for some inexplicable reason -- but that was all they had left.soxfan wrote:I think you need one more viking knot.

Well that was worth going on a naughty list for! First time I have ever seen the viking knots, could you post a bigger picture of them for a close up, pretty please?

Here's a detail of the same photo above.

Here's the best I can do. Unfortunately they present a real challenge to someone like me without skills to control all the directions light flies with these crystals. But here's a sample of the color and shape possibilities. The clear triangle is what I used with the VKs and Silver Mountains.

The bails on the pendants are cheap craft store things.
Here are a round and a square used as spacers on a bracelet. You can see the size relative to TBs and the size of the hole which explains why they have so much movement on a chain.

They can also be used as dangles from hoop earrings and knotted onto a simple necklace as a drop.
