Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
Personally I'd vote for small cores, but I understand that bigger cores would make the designs available for a bigger market.

I feel the same as Mermaidspurse.

We will also release at least one dragon chain. Fit for small core beads. Another dragon scales chain is currently produced by a Fair Trade organization in Cambodia that I worked with 15 years ago. But until I've got a new sample I can't offer that one yet.
Dragon scale chain sounds interesting! First the Faerybeads will just go on my tb chain but if this chain you're talking about looks a bit like this
I'm definately gonna add that as well

Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
He is lovely and at the top of my wish list! I think I would have a slight preference for small cores.
Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
Agree with MMP if asked in advance I would prefer small core but should large core be
choosen I would still puchase the bead. The design is what moves me. just MHO

Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
dragon chain sounds awesome to me!!! I just "lend" one of my bracelets to my eldest so could do with a new one :-)
For me personally I would prefer small core beads but if they are gorgeous enough and it doesn't show to much on a chain I guess I wouldn't really mind I have UU's to so :-)
Next design ?? did I read that correctly?? ooh I'm already curious!! :-)

BeadThrilled wrote:I am sincerely deeply grateful that Ruth is going to design for Faerybeads. Not even in my wildest dreams it came up with me she would be doing these designs. We've been in contact for nearly a year but it had nothing to do with designing. When Fera's dragon lock design was promoted to be designed I carefully checked with Ruth if she was interested, but it got overlooked and we never discussed it again. Until recent when I send the play-doh dragon and the promotion pictures of the green jewel eyed dragon lock. The rest is history.
BTW, how about "Norbert" for a name? Though it is less fearsome than Hagrid's tiny Norwegian Ridgeback.
Norbert will be available through this forum, my jeweler/producer's shop in Utrecht, I'll be working on a webshop and of course Ruth will also sell the beads directly from Australia.
And I've got a question for you!
Should Faerybeads be designed with a small core similar to Trollbeads or a large core?
Norbert has a large core similar to Bowerbeads (Ruth's wildlife series) and the next design as well. But the ones we are planning/designing how would you like it?
We will also release at least one dragon chain. Fit for small core beads. Another dragon scales chain is currently produced by a Fair Trade organization in Cambodia that I worked with 15 years ago. But until I've got a new sample I can't offer that one yet.
Small core , a chain , a necklace and a webshop!

Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
That's an excellent specimen of a dragon scale chain. But it is an OOAK chain. I think that unfortunately the links are too complex for a thinner (charm bead) bracelet chain. This one has a diameter of 8mm. And we need 3.0-3.3mm at the most.TrollFantasy wrote:BeadThrilled wrote:

Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
@Beadthrilled Yeah, I think the one I found was 6 mm but that is still way to big for a beadbracelet. Didn't know this might not be possible for a thinner one. Still excited to see the chain you're releasing

Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
I vote for the smaller, Troll-size cores.
On the other hand, if the dragon chain doesn't come that skinny, then maybe holes big enough for the dragon chain you can get.

So much happening but all good news!!!
Looking forward to se how everything comes together....
As you asks the question Sita...I must say that I much prefer the small core beads BUT I can understand the commercial acspects in releasing large core Faerybeads

I vote for the small core whenever possible. I prefer to see as little "open air" as possible at the core.

Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
Faerybeads is about aesthetics. We're just need to make sure the chains will be a must have too and any other brands' beads will fit as well...
Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
Norbert is such a sweet little fellow, the dragon scale chain is TDF.
This is all so exciting.

Re: Faerybeads baby dragon
Just found this thread, how exciting! Norbert is an amazing dragon (love the name.) I would prefer small core beads too, if given a choice, but will be very happy with either. It would be great to have a dragon scale chain to match the size of the beads, if at all possible. Thank you Sita, for asking and for bringing Faerybeads to life!

What a triumph, Sita. I love the thought of a new dragon chain, are you exploring the idea of an FN too? Maybe a dragon egg on the end?
