CRANE in the wild...among others!
I don't even know how to contain myself right now.
I just got back from another hunt today and I found gold. Never mind gold....DIAMONDS!!!
I found a CRANE!!! for $46 dollars.
I decide to drive 3 hours to this store in a little town in Ontario. I take Armand (my trollbaby) as usual to bring me good luck. He has been lucky in the past when I found "spots" and "pig" and other retired beads for regular old price. He's being all nice and patient...hanging on my fantasy chain....not complaining too much about the long trip
I walk into the store and see a little hanging display of trollbeads....I walk up to it and the first thing I see is a crane hanging at the very bottom of the display. I swoon. My legs feels like jello. My throat gets dry....I croak...."I think I'll take this bird thing over here....How much is this bead?"
The sales lady take about 15 minutes to look through her store books....I know she won't find it in there but I stay as quiet as a mouse praying in my head that she doesn't decide to check the internet or ebay.
She takes her time going through the books over and over and I'm standing there sweating.
Finally she looks at me and apologizes and says she can't find it anywhere but she is pretty sure that it's a pelican and she doesn't know where he's disappeared in her book.
So she asks me if it's ok if she charges me for horses since they seem to be similar in size.
I look at her and answer nonchalantly ...sure..i guess (dying inside)
Then I look through her glass beads and i find all those awesome retired one..I grab them all for $31.00 each.
I'm about to pay and leave when I decide to check the silver display again since I was in shock mode and almost miss out on "six bands"....so once again we go through the process of looking in the book and naturally she can't find it so she suggests price for "viking"...I'm like absolutely...lets do it.
I also get another beautiful "mexico lock" which is blue on one side and green on the other.
What a day. Thank you Armand!!!
I can't believe I rescued all those extinct babies from this little store...they were getting dusty!
almost forgot....2 old heart spacers as well
all the glass I scored + mexican lock

Congratulations, that is amazing that all those retired beads would still be in that store, I know if it was me I would have had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

I'm still in heaven and will remain there for a long long long time.
Still pinching myself and carry crane around worrying she'll vanish. it's not a dream, it's not a dream, it's not a dream.

That is such a great story, it has been such a long time since a wild Crane find - I seem to remember Kionee finding a 'Pelikan' in a small Danish town quite a while ago . . . Anyway, brilliant shopping Trollgirly, congratulations.
