FN Design: Symmetrical Lariat Empty FN Design: Symmetrical Lariat

I'm sure that most of you know how to do this already but I only "unvented" it myself this morning and I thought it was quite nifty.

I found that if you load your necklace like so:

FN Design: Symmetrical Lariat IMG_3228

Then separate the top four beads:

FN Design: Symmetrical Lariat IMG_3229

Hook the looped end around the other end above the topmost bead:

FN Design: Symmetrical Lariat IMG_3230

Then let the beads fall together like this:

FN Design: Symmetrical Lariat IMG_3231

It allows you to get the look of a splitter design without needing a splitter or lock. Good if you don't have any splitters or if all your locks are busy. This was just thrown together quickly this morning but I am sure there are beads that you could use as the focus which would look even better.

Hadn't thought of doing this but it's a wonderful idea. I think you could make many great designs with this technique.
