Honey, Bees and Bumble Bees

My dear father-in-law is a beekeeper and I find the world of bees and bumble bees most fascinating. I could listen for hours on end when he talks about his hives and I have realised that it takes a lot of work and knowledge to harvest honey and to get them all safe and healthy through the year. When he and my dear mother-in-law gift me some birthday funds, I always look for some beads that remind me of them, and often they have to do one way or another with bees (or summer or best: both ). This year I got a bumble bee spacer and my latest amber and a copper stopper and I had gotten the silver bee a few years back and I really love my little bumble and bee bangle

A few days ago I read an article about bees and the fact that when they are threatened/distinct more, it could have disastrous consequenses for us human beings.
In our garden I try to have as much flowers and plants to attract bees.

I used to have a bee bracelet, but some were 'taken' when dd had her beadplay for her bangle, will see if I can put it back together.

@Linda Jo: Oh no! He must have been rather sad! My DFIL is allergic against propolis and needs to take extra care with gloves and such and still it gets to him every now and then. Luckily at least the stings are not a problem for him.
