Wow they are beautiful... my first thought was Rome but I have really no idea of italian architecture (my Latin teacher would beat me if she heard that 
) but now I'm leaning -pun intended- more towards Pisa

Apparently it is more difficult to guess than anticipated. 
A hint: one of the patterns on the spherical bead is distinctive among this kind of buildings and this part of the building.
