Needed a little bit of magic...
I was passed over for a promotion at work on Friday. I have been working hard towards this point for a couple years, so it was very disappointing
Thankfully, bead play is very therapeutic so I spent some time doing that this weekend

So sorry that the promotion did not work out but bead play to the rescue! Definitely can be very therapeutic, especially those soothing blues. I love the sweet white opaque bead too!

After a frustrating day at work, it is therapeutic to have a stash of beads on hand to create something as beautiful as this.

I am sorry to hear about this. Your combo is beautiful. I particularly admire the white bead with the little flowers. It ties it all together.

Those bums! How frustrating! I agree with Ceruleanbluebird about the white bead with flowers, and what a gorgeous ice crystal!

Great combo. I especially like the blue denim prism and the seer. I don't see those beads quite often, you really used them well.
Note to self; must get a seer!

Re: Needed a little bit of magic...
sorry about that promotion, especially when you have been working hard for it to reach your goal,
but maybe... that lovely seer is already looking up something even better for you, keep fingers crossed,
your combo is of course very lovely and yes... as said by all the others, beadplay ALWAYS helps, it helps you focus on something different and regain posture.

Re: Needed a little bit of magic...
Ok, this is another case of a bracelet that I liked to look at but something was bothering me...I decided that I didn't really like the Tranquil Fantasy on it, so I've swapped it out and some other ones, and I think it has a bit more "life" now...not quite as matchy-matchy...
What do you think? Is this better?

Both good, but different. The second one is a bit more girly, to me.

Re: Needed a little bit of magic...
Love all your beadplay!! I like the second combination better - Tranquil Fantasy is a beautiful bead but I would imagine hard to work into combinations because of its size and design - I think I like it better on a fantasy necklace with its design rather than on a bracelet.
I am sorry to hear that you were passed over for the promotion that you had been working towards! That happened to me more than a few times over my career - what I learned was that the particular promotion/job I was chasing was not for me, that one that suited me much more was waiting around the corner. I truly believe that everything (good and bad) happens for a reason that is not always clear to us at the time. My philosophy was that every candidate went into the interview and gave it their best. Sometimes their best was better than mine and I could never hold that against the candidate which is what many people would do. I learned long afterwards that my attitude when I was passed over was what made me stand out for future promotions/jobs!

Your bracelets are lovely, I especially love the colours on the one with the 2 zodiac stars. I agree with retiredk9racer and do think things happen for a reason and there will be brighter days around the corner!

Re: Needed a little bit of magic...
Thanks everyone for the lovely comments and votes of confidence.
I was frustrated, but it has not deterred me. The problem is, it wasn't a new job, it was a promotion within the role I'm already doing and will have to continue to do (unless I go to another company), it was basically just an increase in "level" that I will have to wait another year for. But I agree everything happens for a reason and it has given me a lot to think about and examine about myself and my career, so that is always healthy. I'm sure good things will come from it. In the meantime, I always have my "bead therapy"
