FEET! But why?

I have a burning question. Why, oh why, are all the footprint beads made with 4 toes?

What I can't figure out is what makes them so popular. I have one on an olive background which makes me think of walking on soft moss, but more often than not, I have the urge to hold my nose when I see bare feet.

they never appealed to me, but maybe because I must have stamped at least 150 newborn baby-feet on little cards, there was a time when that really was very popular, wonder if that still is done?

Our daughter had her feet stamped by our midwife when she was born three years ago. Although I don't recall whether our first did when she was born in the hospital five years ago.

It's still done, the stamping of little newborn feet. My little trollings had theirs done by the nurses at the hospital. They have 5 toes though.

Because when you make anything with feet that are small it looks better with only 4 toes

I love that the troll feet have only 4 toes. Otherwise they'd just be plebian and pedestrian human feet.

PKU testing? Is still done today with little cards, but you have to stick a little needle in the foot! Stamping a footprint is probably a little gentler and both are still done all the time here. They made me think of that, and unfortunately some other sad things baby wise. I didn't even to note that they had four toe prints till just recently, that made me happy and they now look like a troll on a beach to me. Maybe I will even pick one up once the fever is over.
