Re: Fall release 2014
Definitely I need the sleeping bat. I wonder how a whole necklace of sleeping bats would be?

Wow
I saw someone had a whole necklace of Baby Trolls on FB which looked amazing
The more I look at the new release the more I like. I really do need a bat and I love the apple as well. The fawn looks really cute. I love all the facets. Can't wait to see these in person

It's great to get to see the new release IRL! I think the Lapis Lazuli is definitely the best and yours looks wonderful Fleur! Did they all look that good?

Trollperle, it concerned a comment in the wrong thread, has got nothing to do with this thread, and yes, I keep coming back looking at that gorgeous lapis and the stunning combo!

Re: Fall release 2014
I got a sneak peek at them in a store while on vacation. Did not take any pictures but for what it's worth, here are some impressions.. Many of the silvers are a nice change from the previous recent releases, with more symbolism, good but not overly busy detail, and less cutesy. The eagle is quite detailed although I fear he will flip unless anchored. Love the big lotus, the sleeping bat and surprisingly the Dandelion (particularly the description in the brochure about finding roots everywhere) and the serene Buddha (I think there is an Ohm symbol on the base of the neck but I'm not positive). If you like round beads, you'll like Spiritual Adornment and Ornament. They remind me a bit of James Jones' steam punk beads rendered in silver. The Tree of Awareness is beautiful, albeit very large (as is the price - $121) and Ganesha was a bit disappointing in the lack of detail of the ears and arms, important to the meaning of the bead. The bat lock is also terrific. Some of the faceted glass are stunning, particularly Hope, but the price is a deterrent if you want to collect several or a set. I did not care for the smooth glass, not my colors and the designs were uninspiring. I thought I'd love the lapis but the few that the store had were not as lovely as Fleur's. They were a bit dull with few of the glittery bits. The opaque brown chalcedony was not particularly exciting, given the many jaspers and cats eyes that have come before it.
As often happens, there were beads I liked better upon seeing them in person and others that disappointed. The higher prices of the silvers and the faceted glass are definitely palpable to the wallet. Apparently there will be a special offer of buy 3 beads, get one free in October if you can wait until then.

The beads are not arriving at my LD until today, Sept 5. Did anyone else in the USA have this experience? (Normally we could preview at the LD. )

I've seen other US dealers posting live pictures and combinations so some definitely got them a few weeks ago.
I went to my LD today and she said she might have them on Monday, but she didn't sound that confident.

Re: Fall release 2014
Today, I finally drove across the city over to Sam's store (Earthworks) to see the new beads in person. I think I got to see every one but Om, which she'd sold out. Some observations:
Fawn---looks more like Thumper than Bambi to me, ears are a bit long. Even so, you can only tell it's a deer by the head, the rest of the bead is a rather generic animal body. But it does wrap itself around the chain rather than being violently pierced.
Cornucopia----hangs down, almost dangles, with the fruit-heavy end facing out. I just wish the fruits and vegetables were distinguishable rather than blobs. I think one is a pear.
Spiritual Ornament----the "temple details" remind me of starfish and alligator hide.
Spiritual Adornment----one half lotus, one half with three different unidentifiable blooms.
Ganesha---I like it, but think this is one to be hand-picked, it would be very easy for the details to be polished off.
Tree of Awareness----Buddha looks very serene, but the backside of the tree disappointed me, not much detail. Maybe another one to hand pick if you want to use the back side.
Giant Lotus---nice size, I could probably use this a lot more than I use my Shadow Flower which is bigger.
Forest Treasures---I like the idea but I don't understand the back side of the bead.
Squirrel---this must be a European squirrel with those big ears. And Seinfeld-ian 'man hands' grasping the nut.
Tears of Shiva----This is not very pretty or impressive unless you really care about the symbolism of the Rudraksha seeds. Irregular and bumpy.
Little Bear---not bad, more bear-like than teddy-like. He has a rather long snout. Be sure that the details on his back paws haven't been polished out.
Apple of Wisdom----Troll snuck a heart in on this one, at the end of the stem.
Dandelion---the leaves look right, but the flowers look heavy, more like mums than wispy dandelions.
Northern Forest Kit---Swaying Straws is a lighter, more yellow-toned green than the old Green Stripe. Autumn Rays is a darker, truer red than the old Red Stripe, but the color does vary---hand pick! Mist Ripples and Mist Bubbles look better up close than from afar.
Eastern Facet Kit---They are pretty but a bit too busy for me. The yellow flecks in Hope Facet are actually stars.
Lapis Lazuli---gorgeous!
Wings of Freedom (eagle)---hand pick if you can, the level of detail and the wing tips can vary.
I only bought two of the new beads , the eagle and the red Autumn Rays, figuring there's no hurry on production beads.
