Playing with Ambers

From the very first amber I brought home, I knew I was in trouble.  The mesmerizing glow and radiance of these beads hypnotizes me....mostly into ignoring the price and focusing on acquisition    The recent carved ambers have been even worse and my "little collection" seems to be ever expanding.  Not to mention the delicious walnut ambers that one of our dear trollies parted with so that they could join me in NJ.  I actually haven't worn a bracelet without them since they arrived.  The photos don't capture it, but they have little inclusions that flash gold and bronze and sparkle in the sun        

I haven't had much time for bead play lately, so splurged a little today with my ambers--trying different glass today and took photos as I went--kind of a bead version of who wore it best... My favorite was the all amber in the sun.  If anyone else is playing around, feel free to share photos.  Here's how it went:



And with one of my favorite beads--retired brown bud.  I searched for this bead at a reasonable price for a long time....only ever wanted 2....then come to find out a dealer I shop at had been hoarding several of them in her secret stash...and sold them to me for next to nothing.      not sure how many I even have now--great bead especially with ambers....

And as far as I am concerned...amber matches every color....and two of my favorites are green & yellow.


Actually thinking a whole combo of banana and amber would be awesome...

I have got some carved ambers I am playing with and is strange I put with brown bud also    and golden plaid is looking good with them.

This is bad!!!!! They are so so beautiful, all of them, mix well with any coulor, they are the spirit of the sun   
I wouldn't know wich one to choose, but if I had I am impressed by the snake (is it tb? or liana?) and your recent walnuts!!

I couldn't agree more--they really are the sun!!! The dragon and snake are liana. The rest are TB. The walnuts are amazing. Now, I am glad I was outbid on ebay for all the others I tried to buy--these two are perfect together.

Wow!  I love them both!  Really does look nice with the golden plaid.  And the green is wonderful.  Not sure which one I like best, both are really great!  Thanks so much for sharing!

I love your grungy amber collection! I never get tired of looking at your combos, they are always so full of texture. Really love all of them!

Love everyone's amber. Something always gets in front of the amber in my wish list and watching these pictures of yours I am beginning to regret it more than ever. Maybe by winter... I always tend to want to wear amber in winter.
