I like these soft pink and aqua shades, I think you have been successful this year.

Thank you both but I am not sure that I will actually wear it. I have been creating a box full of brownish bracelets.

I know what you mean...mine are slowly tunign into bronish and blueish bracelets, I have a lovely purple one but never wear it, quite a few pinks that lay lazy n my box! However I think you did a lovely job and its is not too feminine

I don't do much in the girly realm either. One of my current favs is one that I think of as my zombie bracelet
I think your bracelet is very nice BB. Maybe it needs a bit of orange? (My 2 year old asked why there was no orange in it since there's orange in the fabric )
Re: Failed Femininity
It is lovely, and quite feminine. I understand what you mean about not being your style, but one of my best bracelets is not my normal style. It is an American Southwest design that I make with turquoise agates. I get a lot of compliments on it, and usually end up wearing it with a white tee and jeans. No cowgirl boots.

Re: Failed Femininity
Clever comment but I was trying to get away from orange. Most of my stuff seems to be orange and brown now. Perhaps I need a Zombie Bracelet???strike wrote:minty wrote:That's why I never try to do girly... I'm more like

Lovely bracelet - and I totally understand where you come from. I have created many a beautiful bracelet but on my arm it screamed at me to take it apart - and instead I am wearing lots of blues and browns, as well

I'm in your boat
How do BOLD strong femininity colors work for you? Your inner viking rebels against the muted demure tones as that is not who you are.

Re: Failed Femininity
Well I think it's a beautiful bracelet, but totally understand about making up bracelets that don't end up getting worn...but I think that's OK too, exploring outside our comfort zone is healthy when being creative. That doesn't mean that every creation is something you will end up wearing

Re: Failed Femininity
well, I personally would love it just the way it is, I love to wear feminine bracelets and I do love the colours, also I love the silvers on it, and wow... you got one nice Babylonian Nymph that really looks ever so good to me!
But I also do bracelets that look good on a pic but once I really want to wear them outside, I shudder and think "what an atrocity", I think this happens to a lot of us, for me it is usually the test, if I can wear it outside, it is good, if not, it gets killed.

Re: Failed Femininity
Prettily perfect but not perfectly perfect you Fun trying but there's no going against the grain when it comes to wearing. I drove back home to change my bracelet the one and only time I tried to force myself to wear a non me pretty bracelet

Re: Failed Femininity
I have a rule, I make it, then I have to wear it, at least once !
Then run back to comfort zone ! I think your bracelet is lovely, feminine without being girlie

Re: Failed Femininity
It's a perfectly well put together bracelet BB, but it doesn't look like a BB bracelet. This is a lovely interpretation of a classic version of femininity, I just don't see you as a pastel person. As for femininity, you've loads of that! Yours is strong and rich, this bracelet is soft and whimsical, both styles are feminine. I guess the test is if you'll wear this more than once.

Did you consider adding a clear yellow bead or two? I see a yellow accent in three of the lavender beads; plus I think it would tie in with the one robins egg blue bead at 2 o'clock. I made one girly bracelet and I find it refreshing to wear.

Even if it is not what you are looking for, it is a beautiful bracelet.

The sun came out, I changed some of the silvers to ones that I like better, and I am wearing my bracelet.
