TB Not Producing Uniques?

I have been seeing rumors that Trollbeads is no longer producing unique beads, does anyone know more about this? Is it just temporary or will it be permanent? I must admit a slow down on the uniques is much needed but I would not like to see them gone altogether  TB's finally started supplying good uniques outside of the EU instead of the buglies that seemed to be the majority and then suddenly they decide no more?  Yes I am an unique bead addict

I thought so too but I have seen 2 dealers on FB claim TB is not producing uniques altogether???  Hopefully just temporary...

I find that hard to believe. That has to be a cash cow for them.

Macrow is also saying no new production beads either? What is going on?

I think that means no new production of Uniques not that they won't be producing any Production Beads.

That makes sense. No new ooak production, but still, that's bad enough.

would be sorry for the girls that do only Troll, for me it doesn't matter at all, there are far nicer artisans (Christa, Kathy Perras, AKDesigns) and they cost less!

I hear of this many months befor that is Trollbeads uniques will be stopped. Many trading people selling there beads out latly.  

It will save me money. If is not Trollbeads I dont need it

I have to agree with you there. As much as I try to love my artisan uniques I find they are the first ones I look at selling when I am needing more bead money. Give me a bunch of uniques in a pile, I always gravitate to the Trollbeads uniques, they are like a magnet, lol.

edited to add: There ares some artisan uniques I truely love and will never get rid of, but they are far and few between

Maybe I stop selling my own older Uniques as much. It will not make me want to buy ugly old stock from dealers though.

I personally can't imagine they'd give up uniques for good. I would have thought they were a large portion of their business.

This rumour has been circulating for a long while, but perhaps there is some credibility to it now? I am not sure I believe it in the long-term though. I wonder whether (TB HQ) they have a problem with those particular dealers and have decided not to supply them anymore? We know that D4E appear to be out of favour (not allowed to carry X and have been very public about their feelings) and Macrow produce beads themselves, which could be seen as direct competition to Trollbeads.

I think it is hard for the retailers because they have to buy the uniques in kits and usually the kit only has a few good beads, so they do get stuck with not so nice unique beads that they can not sell.

Good point, mdellano.  That is the number one complaint you hear about uniques after all, is that dealers are stuck with a lot of fuglies they can't unload and can't put on sale.  So dealers can get stuck with a large inventory of unsaleable beads, or else decide not to carry them at all.  And as much as a sucker as I am for uniques, if the price rose any higher, I'd have to seriously think about whether I wanted to invest in many more.  I really don't see any reason why they should be so much more expensive than production beads.  So perhaps they are rethinking the way they are marketing the uniques.  Or perhaps they have a temporary supply problem.  I guess there are several possible explanations, and we'll just have to wait for more news.  My wallet can use a break from unique buying anyways. so a forced cutback may not be all bad.

I thought Macrow had stopped producing their own brand beads, apart from a few very special stones, quite some time ago.  I can't see why Trollbeads would consider them to be a problem.

I think that they have decided to address the problem of producing a massive back stock of unsellable beads. They have been coming round to my LD, who does not normally stock Uniques, and encouraging her to choose whatever beads she likes.  I believe (not totally sure) that she can swap them for different ones if they don't sell as well.  I guess that they are pretty desperate to shift their stock.

I think demand is bigger then that there beads are.
