Fooling around with my new bangle
I really love this combo:
I bought a lot of small silvers in anticipation of owning a bangle, but I don't like how the beads blend in with the bangle. Here's an example (I was hoping this would rock my socks, but alas it didn't):
Here are my thoughts:
I think these bangles would look good in multiples, aka stacked, with other silver bangles. Of course, many have shared stacking with ribbons and Noosa, which also look awesome.
I wouldn't put more than five beads for a design, so coming up with combos is easier. I also can feature beads that I like, but I don't have 18 beads to make a full bracelet. So, bangles free you up to buy any color your are drawn to.
I don't like ending a design with silvers. I think they get lost against the stoppers. The only exception is using a bead with texture, like Berry. The contrast is good enough. A second exception is using gold stoppers, which I don't have. Another idea would be using textured stoppers, but TB doesn't make them.

very pretty colors!! really like your bangle combo!! cb, may i ask a burning general question: what do you notice about the "feel" of the bangle? and what do you like about it? do you think using a smaller bracelet chain w/ a few beads would create a similar feel to the closeness (on the small part of the wrist) of the bangle? is it a comfort thing? is it moreso the smoothness vs. the texture of the chain? asking b/c i haven't taken the bangle plunge and am really curious ("rayyyyrrrr" - cat losing 1 of 9 lives sound). thanks for your review too, and i look forward to your stacks!! hugs!

I totally agree with you about ending silvers next to the stoppers. I am going to play around and see if I can find a suitable bead or 2 to use.

I agree about not putting silvers at the ends next to the stoppers, I use 3 glass beads, one in the middle and a lotus flower on each side with a glass at the end. I am going to get another berry or hydrangea to use these in pairs as well. I think the 'slimmer' silvers work well, I have tried Bougainvillea with Babysbreath
Pretty TB stoppers would be good. Has anyone tried Tedora stoppers on the bangle?

A quick photo to show the lotus beads on the bangle.

Re: Fooling around with my new bangle
When I read your thoughts about the bangle, I found out, that I in some points agree with you, I always did combos with a center bead and I also always have glass bead at the ends. Furthermore I love the etruscans in my combos:
But I also like fuller bangles with smaller beads and today I gave it a try to make a combo without center bead:
Perhaps you like them?

The feel of the bangle is light as air. You really don't know that it is on. For the most part, the bangle design stays upright on the wrist; however at times I notice the bangle hanging upside down as I drive. For me, the XS bangle was the right size for me. It hurts to put it on and I am confident that it will not slip off unless someone yanks it off. It is comfortable because it is so light, but the traditional chain bracelet is also comfortable, too. The bangle looks more modern in its sleekness.

After I made my first bad combo, I tried the Aurora sandwiched between the Baby's Breath and ending with Berry. It wasn't the best combo, but the texture helped with the stoppers issue.

I love the LOVE! When D4e had the letters on sale, I was trying to think of a word to use, but I ended up passing. I have G and L block letters for my kids' names. I am still looking for the elusive M. I love the Etruscan bead! I got mine earlier this year. I love the texture...a really great design.

I've really enjoyed looking at all your bangles with glass; they are all so beautiful... I've so far never had any glass on mine at all. This is how I wear it.... The gold Whirl was a special gift from my oldest son. He picked it out for me when he was in Denmark. It's very special to me.

Your bangles are all so beautiful and stunning - and so much inspiring!
I love wearing mine - it feels so comfortable especially with warmer weather and it makes me wear beads, I don´t use in combos because I only have one or two of this particular color. This is such a combo:
Without center bead - I really enjoy wearing it! (glass bead by Christa Keitzer, everything else is TB)

Re: Fooling around with my new bangle
I found this thread really helpful. I hadn't realized that the designs that were more visually appealing to me were the ones with glass on the outside (until just this moment ). I have my Aurora Bangle on order (ordered online without seeing a pic, so here's hoping I get a nice one!), and was thinking about picking up some duplicate silvers prior to receipt. Now I know I need to wait and maybe experiment some before I buy.
I also need some faceted ambers and pearls (Thanks for the pics ladies!!! )

I like the four beads together and using the pearls next to the stoppers is pretty. There have been some good ideas in this thread today.

Re: Fooling around with my new bangle
Such beautiful bangles - very inspirational! I find the bangle very comfortable to wear - I have a small. I was a bit wary at first in case it would slip off, but it seems very secure, though its easier to forget about than a bracelet, because it is quite light! I love it and am inspired to try some new combinations!

Great experimentation and design tips in this thread! I love mini combos anyway, so the bangle ideas are right up my alley.
