Every (his)tory has a bead

Many of you may be familiar with the Trollbeads slogan. “Every story has a bead”. Here'e a twist: the historical progression and use of materials in these beads tell their stories. There is a stone with veins of copper within, a bead made from the copper laden bricks in the smelting works, a steampunk bead fashioned painstakingly from copper and brass (a mix of copper and zinc) machine parts, and ornamental copper beads. Not the glassy and silvery beauty of Trollbeads but an elemental and historied one.

P.S. I was tempted to oxidize my bangle for this, but I'll try them on a black leather bracelet instead!

Thank you all! This was an antidote to not being able to get the small and beautiful uniques, especially the peacock. Found some very different beads instead. The copper veined and copper brick beads were from an etsy seller. The copper veined beads are very individual so you can ask for photos of available beads. The seller is very helpful and you can even get your favorite stones made into cored beads. The steampunk bead is from Bullfrog and Iching Beads. The beads are released in small numbers and pricey, but really unique in the true sense. I am across them in this forum. The ornamental beads are inexpensive Tierracast beads carried by bead stores like Artbeads and also on etsy.
