Ooh that's a really nice example. You are going to be able to make some lovely combos with that.

Remember all beads look better in the daylight (and DH's don't know nuthin' 'bout beads)!

Wow, I had no idea that GLAs could look so different. The bracelets posted are lovely. It really goes so well with OAF.

Swisstroll, I think the one you got is beautiful, don't listen to your DH's comments about it.

I love your bead, and hope you'll grow to love it too. The GLA is my favourite glass ever. I am lucky enough to have two of the "bright" later ones and I recently got an original muted one, which I absolutely adore, perhaps even more than the bright ones. I'm sure it will grow on you! They are slightly difficult to combine, I think. I use one in a Tibet combo, another with OAFs and amethysts and I am just building a new bracelet around my muted one. Cannot upload photos at the moment but will try soon Very Happy

I think mine may have been the runt of the litter! Small with the purple lines rather indistinct. But I adore it. Right now, it is starring in a mini combo I wear with a Michaela Frey bangle.

My GLA is like yours. But I absolutely LOVE those colors together! It looks like you scored a really nice bead. Maybe it just needs some TLC and it will shine in your combo:) Did it arrive dirty? Sometimes polishing can help the bead shine too:)

I am glad that I have 2 OAF and that I grabbed them before they were retired...didn't know they would become this rare and hard to get! They look amazing on those bracelets and those are my colors!!!!

Unfortunately I'm not collecting long enough for having the chance of getting one or two of them before they were retired! It's such a lovely bead. Hope to get one one day too!

Interesting topic! I did not realize that there were two different versions of the GLA! I have to go to the bead box and look at mine again! Swisstroll yours is really nice but if you are not happy perhaps you can swap with someone here to get the one that makes your heart sing?!

It's too late to swap, I was bead-shopping today!

I received some extra bead money from my DH because he noticed (with a little help of me) that I was really down after his comment. And furthermore my Sea Grass arrived today, so the spiritual collection have to wait until next month:

It looks wonderful and I think your GLA is one of the best that I have ever seen. It isn't too pale and it isn't too bright and the colours are wonderfully clear.
