Flowers and sparkle Empty Flowers and sparkle

Post by stacecase Sun Feb 05, 2012 11:03 pm

Trying to get a "springtime" feeling, despite all these below freezing temperatures and snow Smile

Made a trip to my LD on Friday and picked up one of my wishlist beads...the Van Gogh Sunflowers.

This is the first combo I've made with it.

Flowers and sparkle Flower21

btw, I am NOT HAPPY at all with my "new" camera. I've only had it a few months and have come to realize that it simply CANNOT take clear photos (must be the camera, not me, right? Wink) Think I'm gonna sell it and get a different one. Never had this problem with any camera before...I think mine's just a DUD.

Most definitely springtime! And what is the little silver under the flower at 8 o'clock? That's cute!

BTW: You probably now all the functions of your new camera and this is a dumb question, but do you use the macro function (usually marked with a small flower)?
If the pics don't get sharp then, it definitely is the camera!

Well I think the picture is pretty sharp. Lovely bracelet. Like the pink bead to the right, looks like a sunrise. Is it a Troll?

Hi there MMP,

That is the TB small berries bead.

Not a dumb question at all, but yes, I'm one of those people who knows diddly about all the various settings, so I use a point and shoot, but it's a fairly good one and it is in Macro mode when I take close-ups...yet the photos just always come out grainy. I really do think it's the camera too Smile Thanks for the suggestion!

Cheers,

Thanks, PansyCat Smile

I think you're referring to the second glass bead at the top right? That is actually a Kathy Perras artisan, she called it "Opalescent Plum Dichroic". It does look very similar to the TB Pink desert, but it has different color glitters and the base is slightly more plum than pink.

Love her beads, no wonder I noticed that one. The more I look at your bracelet, the better I like it. Just Plain Old Gorgeous.

I am not happy with the Macro on my camera either and have just been using my phone for my crappy pics. Yours look much better. I love your bracelet too!

I love that - I've been making a few pink combos myself recently Smile

I think your camera could be focusing on the background and not the bracelet...

Try pointing the camera at a bead at the front so that the bead is in the centre of the screen (you might have guidelines), press the button half way, so the camera focusses, then keep it pressed but move your camera so the bracelet is where you want it before taking the photo - the camera should stay focussed on the bead.

Worth a try anyway - a new camera should be amazing!

And I really struggle with black backgrounds too - have you had better luck on white?

Thanks so much, Lollipop! Those sound like GREAT suggestions...I will definitely try them out. The graininess really bugs me. And maybe on a white (or mirrored) background the colors will come out more too.

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments too! I'm not a real frilly type girly girl, but I do love all shades of pink (I know that sounds like a contradiction Wink)

I find myself coordinating my bead creations with outfits sometimes...do others do this too?

I wore this one with a khaki and olive green outfit, believe it or not! But it really brought emphasis to the pink (and green), so I think it worked! Smile

I love this - soft and feminine. Its good to see some different beads used too like the Jewel bead. I'd sort of overlooked those kind for some reason - but want one now! I love you

Thanks rainyday! I was actually quite lucky with that one...I didn't even pick it out IRL, it was part of a Desert kit I ordered online from Me Me Me - on DISCOUNT no less! Smile I was a happy camper.
