Spoiled by my secret santa! Empty Spoiled by my secret santa!

Post by strike Wed Nov 26, 2014 8:59 pm

The BIGGEST, HUGEST thank you to my secret santa!!  Hug  Hug  I've wanted this bead for months but it's retired so I've been waiting to see if one comes up preloved and the one time that one did, I had to reluctantly pass since the day before I had bought another bead that I'd been looking for since the summer. Laughing

Everything all wrapped up

A closeup of the beautiful card and one of the pages in the knitting book. I can't decide which pattern to try first!  Very Happy  There's also a pattern for bagpipes that I might have to attempt for my friend's birthday in January since she plays.

Almost everything unwrapped (there's also a calendar organizer and chocolates  drunken )

Where's the bead, you ask? Well ...
Spoiled by my secret santa! Pb260011

... I couldn't risk putting it out for the picture since a certain little boy TRIED TO EAT IT OUT OF MY HAND WHEN I OPENED IT!! At least he looks sufficiently sorry.

I got a sparrow bead!!

I love it so, so much! I have an obsession with my bird feeder, so I've been slowly working on a bracelet for the birds that come visit. Many of the birds have their duller winter colours, but the cardinals are still bright and cheery, so I chose them for this mini combo! sunny

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Totally different - more like a sea serpent - but it has got stuck in a loch.

I am quite tempted by this one.

One more adjective comes to mind...thoughtful. It is a wonderfully thoughtful secret Santa put together that gift.
I think the dear doggie's expression is saying "you think you foiled me? I'll get the last laugh yet!"

He is the "eat first, figure out what it was later" kind of dog, but I would have thought he'd have enough sense not to eat a bead. I wonder if he got a little worked up because our mail carrier gave him a treat, so then he thought the package she bought must contain treats? scratch Laughing

But you are right Gail, it was a super-thoughtful gift. And it will definitely be treasured! I actually found myself petting it on the way to pick up my daughter yesterday Embarassed

@mdellanno, nice to find another pug owner! They are crazy, but so fun aren't they? Smile Paco is seven, so he really should know better. We have a pug mix as well who is about 14ish (we don't know her exact age, we just guess).

Oh you have to knit Nessie! He's a national treasure. And I love that cross-stitch card, so beautiful and so neat! Reminds me of a certain haunted castle, which is too beautiful to take down of the mantle. Wink

And a sparrow such a inspired choice. The wings are so detailed, its just a perfect little bead. Happy Christmas Santa Christmas Tree

Such a beautiful card and then just the bead you wanted! Very Happy santa

My favourite though is the knitted Scottish Nessie cheers

P.S. if anyone has the pattern for the Nessie, I would love to have a copy. I know someone who could knit it for me sunny
