"Earning" myself a bracelet :) update 30.8.2014

hi,

I have been doing quite a bit of outdoor (and indoor) exercise, I love running along the Lake, and therefore I decided to "earn" myself a bracelet, for every 30  one - hour runnings I will allow myself, I started 1st of June,
yesterday I got my first bead   

I went to my jeweller and looked at all the beads, I had intended to buy the new turtle as I didn't have it yet, but then I saw the old bead and decided for that one, which I think is much nicer.

I am not going to do a themed bracelet, but I am already thinking of what to get next hi hi....but before I'll have to sweat a bit more ...hi hi...any suggetions? should be a production bead and easily available. (instant reward!)

I am surprised how well a single bead looks on a bracelet, it will stay now like this until bead 2 is due.

Great idea Cats!!! Well if it has to do with walking or running I would suggest the walk bead, short cut as well as far as the glasses just pick a color and follow it!
It looks already very nice

Congratulations ! I got my second walking bead - Light Blue Gold for my Chakra bracelet and my first Qi Gong one (Life Force) and will now start a new round - It really is motivating!

That's a great idea, I'm starting to run once I am home from my holiday. I think I will do the same.

@Reltan, I got already shortcuts but not the walk, that one I don't like really that much... but maybe I will have a closer look at it.

@Kathleen, had to look up what you meant with running man bead, I got a yellow similar one, not exactly..but your idea was a great one, I bet you have been ever so happy with your 10miles marathon and with the bead!   

@Trollperle, your idea of earning a bead was a great one, my bracelet will grow very slowly, I am working and cannot walk everyday, but I will take care which beads I chose, next one might be one from the new release, who knows...

@Michelle, a pearl always looks good, so that might be seriously considered, wish I had one of those real pinkish pearls, but doubt to find one...

Wow, Cats! Congrats!!! Your feat is amazing! The turtle is such a perfect first choice...really love how it looks alone with your watch. You do this nearly everyday, my goodness! Will have to chew on the "second bead" question... (Can't imagine running for an hour in one stretch   ....maybe one day I'll try accumulating distance...)

I earned another 30 credits, and that is what I have chosen, the heart chakra as I did not have that one, I had aimed for the throat chakra, but I could not find a nice one, so I decided to go for green

I don't know where it will take me and how the bracelet will look in the end, it won't be so easy during the colder months and I may have to slow down a bit.

But I will do my best to earn bead 3 at least as fast as possible, it is weird to wear a bracelet with one silver and one glass!

I really need an incentive to lose some weight, but I'm not good at exercise apart from cycling and walking the dog. Maybe I just need to go a bit faster!

I really like the minimal look, it lets you really appreciate the beads.

Congratulations on bead #2! This is a great idea. I started walking seriously a couple of months ago (I try to walk 5 miles each weekday morning). Before that, I was just trying to attain my goal of 10K steps each day (using a FitBit which I got in Jun 2013). Since that purchase, I have walked over 2,000 miles and climbed over 4,000 flights of stairs (or the equivalent). The hills on my morning route are the equivalent of approximately 20 flights of stairs. According to my statistics, I have 798 miles to go until 3,000 and 1,291 flights to go until 8,000. I will have to figure out what my goals for a bead should be!

What a great idea to use a bead as motivation. Actually, I am in awe. I hate to exercise. Maybe I should give this reward technique a try.

I admit, I love to be outside, afterwards you may feel tired but your mind is clear and worries disappear, I need no longer lose weight now, for me it is more like a treat itself.
