Kimonos with glass and gems

When I got the Kimono beads last weekend I somehow couldn't make them work with other glassbeads . Doing quite a bit of trollplay today, I now realized what wasn't working for me:
It's the red and white Kimono bead ! For me it works great in the set, but not in combination with other glassbeads. So I used my Kimono set minus that one and suddenly other beads went fine with the five left !

This is a great combination. Beautiful use of glass and stones with the kimonos. What is the stone to the right of the pink kimono?

A jasper I got from Fleur in an 'ugly bead swap'. She thought it was ugly and I love it ! I' still sorry about the really ugly glass I sent to her !

I completely agree with you MMP. The red one is very nice, but IMO doesn't quite make it easy to design! I adore your combo!!

It is a nice combo with a lovely lock.

A very gentle and restful combo, your Kimono beads (minus the red one, lol) look great with the pink pearl and your lovely greyhound lock

I wondered if it was a Jasper. I certainly would not have called it ugly. Well this just goes to show that what one person thinks is ugly, the next person thinks is great. I picked out two Picasso Jaspers prior to Christmas. Both have a sort of blue-grey-green in them, plus some of the regular Jasper colours. Not what most people wanted, but better for me in terms of the types of colours I wear. They work for me.

You've paired them beautifully with your glass and gems!! The lock certainly compliments the bracelet, too!!

I love the soft colors you've chosen.

Lovely! I find the Ume red & White bead hardest to use also. I really need to persist . . .
