Innuit Winter with time for tales

Every time I look at this bracelet, I think of the winter tales told in the little house stuffed with people in for kaffemik in the coldest and darkest part of the year.

The innuit tales are about how to live in close pact with the nature of ice. The tales are of how whales and dolphins were once both human and animal. How to operate kajaks and boats and hunt the necessary prey. How to survive in ice and water. The carving of tupilaks and animals from bone or soft stone. Preparing tools and clothes for the next hunt.

I would like to be there drinking coffee listening to the innuit tales and joking and experiencing the hunt the travelling with the dog sleds and going boating to other fiords to say hello to kinsmen. I would like to participate in the dancing and singing to the beat of the innuit drum. I would like to visit Greenland's new fashion houses and their art workshops. The modern clothes and their unique jewellery are stunning.

Well, one day I may go for a trip to Greenland visiting the innuit, but now I will enjoy wearing my bracelet.
