Ambers go with...? Empty Ambers go with...?

Post by lindakm Thu Oct 18, 2012 12:36 pm

I have a little problem. I've got lots of gorgeous ambers, and love them, but they seem to stay on the rods in the beadbox. The problem is, although I love them, they are not 'my colours', in that they don't really suit my skin tone. So I'm wanting some ideas on how to combine ambers with other colour glass beads. Pics would be much appreciated!

I've pretty much got the whole spectrum of ambers, Michelle, but I prefer the ones with lots of debris in them. It's late here now, but I'll take a photo of my favourites to post tomorrow...

Hmmm... I'm really drawn to the amber/purple, but your pale blue and amber looks amazing too, beadgirl... Very inspiring!

Great amber combos and inspiration! I love ambers but they are not my usual colors either. The clear gold ones do liven up black based glass beads, like the Australia barrier reef and the Zurich film beads, as well as dark reds and browns. I've used the dark earthy/pale milky ones with opaque glass beads like chai bud, fireflies, trollstones and the pink Kimono bead for contrast. It is amazing how once you start playing around with them, there are many rich possibilities.

Just one or two ambers in each of these but there's room for more.

All these pictures are great. I put them with purple as someone else has shown and also with cobalt blues. I have a bracelet on today that is purple, lime green, red and medium brown ambers -- I like it for a fall bracelet. I need to get better about putting pictures on. Also use them with my picasso jaspers, I use ambers a LOT.
