What makes amber the colour it is ? I know its fossilised tree resin, but I sort of thought, different tree different colour, obviously not ! Someone give me an amber lesson please.

I only know that amber is white because of many microscopic small air bubbles that makes it look creamy and the dark variety is littered with organic residue and wood fibres.
And if there are those shiney flakes in it, the amber has been heated to make small air bubbles burst and then those flakes occur...
