Troll Tree in a Lakeside Forest
As a result of the Big Love for Tae fundraising campaign, I won a prize of a full glass kit. I chose the Lakeside Forest kit, it's one I've liked since my very beginning with Troll. The kit arrived in the mail in time for me to make up a necklace for our anniversary 'date' dinner, and I decided to try the Troll Tree as a splitter.
WARNING: this is not for people who must have balance and symmetry!
Poor Pax and Sparrow got spun around backwards in this photo!
I played around with the different holes among Troll Tree's branches, and finally decided on two holes towards the rear. Those balance best, but even so it's not perfect. The tree tends to tilt forward, as you can see. In real life, around my neck, that tilt is not so pronounced. Using the Tree as a splitter means you cannot put a bead in among the branches, there's no room.

I do love the Lakeside Forest beads as much as I thought I would! And I still haven't taken this necklace apart. It feels elegant to me. In a Troll-ish way!
Here are the Art Deco rhinestone bracelets I wore with it.

I always wanted to get a Troll tree as they remind me of Ents from lord of the rings

That is a great necklace design. I need to pull out my kit, the beads look so good together.

really like what you did w/this kit, LJ. and LUV those bracelets!! your combo of the vintage dressy/glitzy stuff w/trollish glamour here is encouraging and intriguing... i've always felt like i couldn't combine them, but now you've inspired more play!! well done!!! (and congrats on a fab prize)

Yes! I've never seen the Troll Tree in person, and most pictures don't show the detailing on the top like that. It's a really neat bead

This is a gorgeous necklace. My mom wears her Troll tree as a splitter too...she has quite an ecclectic combo, I'll see if I have a photo.
