Real Gemstones Nah.....!

I took this picture more as a way to show you what is "real" In this bracelet are manmade beads, so how good are you? spotting it. It actually is a fun bracelet looking at it.


Description of photo, bracelet sitting with REAL stones (these are stones that live in my fireplace, my lucky stones I find on beaches and walks, there also is a desert rose, plain rock, slate, etc etc enhanced gemstones.. i.e. some are dyed. Pink Agate TB bead, yes of course its dyed

and then the bracelet with my smiley and No I would not insult my smiley by adding those manmade ones as the norm.. I have only put this together to show what is real and what is not... exclude the glass desert beads and silvers obviously.. which one is man made... you tell me.

Well...first Grumpy, it's a gorgeous bracelet, manmade or not!!! But just for fun, here's my guess....The bluish turquoise bead on the right, I think that's most likely jade. the 2 pinkish, white and black, I think those are howlite turquoise (stabilized), the white faceted bead on the left back....not sure about that one, so it's my guess as the manmade bead... either way it is a "REAL" pretty bracelet!!!!!

OK I'll give it a shot... You have 2 desert beads near the lock which are manmade. And 2 pink agatas, could they be from the new release?

Tiger Eyes are natural...

I think all are manmade except for the Tiger Eyes

I will agree with Nkara, The Tigereyes look too brilliant in colouring.

drats both wrong... tiger eyes are definately very real.. ok do you want to carry on guessing? Or shall i list them all... lol

I would love to have a look at the bracelet from above (as I can't see the beads in the back that good).
Besided that I think the 2 pink/white spottet beads next to tigers eye are manmade. But again I would love a closer look;-)

Spot on Tiffany Go to the top of your class. The peculiar pink spotted beads are a stone composite ground down, mixed with adhesives etc.. It feels like stone, cold etc I have 6 of these. I purposely bought red/pink/yellow combi to brighten up some designs, saying that I rarely use them.

OK here is the list from the left rear,
Brown Desert bead,
very poor quality Labradorite poor cutting etc.
Cats Eye, pink dyed. they shine very nice actual I can't fault them
Pink/white/grey Stone (man made) composite they were sold to me as man made
Tiger Eyes x7 and the Smiley of course
at the rear is Amazonite, its a very strange attempt of making a trollbead style bead, nice stone, but not finished of very well.

If I had bought the brown and grey versions of the man made stones they would have looked very much like the jaspers.. which I think at the time someone was trying to fake. Cost? £3.50 each including the silver core and its definately silver. Artisan is actually quite a tidy worker also does the odd silver bead. Made in Italy.

It was my hunt for dyed stones that made me buy these, these fake ones didn't fade etc unlike some jades. Not sure what the cats eye will do, still wearing them once in a while but like the tiger eye they have a sheen that is simply Nice. not high gloss like the new dyed agates which btw are very nice.
