Striped Turquoise Agate Kit
I bought a striped turquoise agate kit completely on impulse! First I put it together with some creams, greys and neutral beads that I had, but for whatever reason I wasn't feeling it. It needed some punching up; perhaps some silver bling to give it some life.
I ordered some silvers and played around with the beads. I eventually ended up taking out all the neutral beads and only keeping the blues. I liked it this way the best and wore it like this for a while, but I think mainly because I was so in love with the rose pendant.
Now I've taken this bracelet apart and employed the silvers and the bracelet/lock elsewhere, while my agate kit sits unloved on Misfit Island on the bottom of my jewellery box. LOL Sigh. You win some and you lose some, with these impulse purchases. Hopefully I'll find inspiration to play around with this kit again soon. I'm currently at a loss what to do with it.

I prefer the first design. Those subdued colours you can basically wear with everything. I like it. It is soothing.

I like the second one best, have you tried putting the turquoise with some white beads? The rose pendant is pretty, another one to go on my wish list.

The second one is gorgeous!
I love the striped blue agates, there are so much possibilities with them!
With the creams the agates become a little dull (my personal opinion, I'm not into cream), but try black or even green. Or smokey quartz...

Have you thought about adding a prism or two? Maybe a pearl?

No I haven't but thanks for the suggestion. My collection is quite small but I have two white beads that I can try to pair with them to see if it helps the agates to pop.

Yes this is exactly it-- I agree with you! The neutrals in there sort of make the agates look dull. I tried to spruce it up with some silvers but then I ran out of space on my bracelet and ended up just editing out all the neutrals entirely. lol Unfortunately I don't have any black beads but I do have a couple of aventurines and a smoky quartz that I can try. I'm waiting for the Mother's Day trunk show when I can purchase some more beads to play around with. Thanks for your suggestions!

I don't dislike them, but they don't make my toes curl and I'm not in love with them the same way that I feel about a couple of my other bracelets. What's wrong with me, right? But I found myself not reaching for this bracelet in the morning, so I took that as a sign that this agate project needed to be put on the back burner for the time being. I needed to swipe the chain and silvers to use in another project that was more inspired. lol

Oh your agates are so beautiful! I love all the swirly teals and browns mixed into the turquoise. Your bracelet is beautiful and yes, inspirational. The greens add an additional, complementary dimension to the colour mix. Thank you for sharing!

Delicious - rather like cool waves lapping on the edge of a stony beach in the bright Spring sunlight.

Re: Striped Turquoise Agate Kit
Here's the latest incarnation of my striped turquoise agate kit! I decided to add some creams in there to punch it up. I think that I'm finally satisfied with it.
