Good combo to kick that ol man winter right into summer! For once we have had such a beautiful warm winter (that I am not going to complain) only one week of cold!!!

@MMP, our overnight minimum in Melbourne last night was about 27C, I believe Sydney had its hottest night in 40 years last night, struggling down to about 36C at dawn - that is really no fun either! But I shouldn't complain, we have had a very pleasant summer, only 1 or 2 days above 40C. You are welcome here any time

@Sil, in the night from thursday to friday we had -15C, and this place rarely gets below 0C at all! DD is hoping fervently for snow, but it's too cold for that.

Hot, hot! I am inspired to take out my yellows, oranges and pinks. It sounds like Europe is having an especially tough winter. Meanwhile our winter in the northeast U.S. has been relatively mild (it's far from over).
