Spring snowdrops Empty Spring snowdrops

Spring snowdrops P1020713

I am sorry this picture isn't that good. I haven't managed to capture the quality of how the beads look very well. I need to develop my skills on the photo taking side. I have a small digital camera. My eldest son wants to get a digital SLR. I think I should encourage him (go halves maybe?). But anyway I thought I would share with friends here the beginnings of spring in the North of England. These are snowdrops in my garden this morning with Trollbeads inspired by them. I don't have a huge collection of beads (yet!) so I have included here some new ones I bought in the sales in the last few weeks. It is one of the pleasures of Trollbeads in my view that one can have unusal quirky beads in combination but still have a theme. Snowdrops, white, green spring and.....tupilaks.. Very Happy The contrasts add to why they are engaging. Nigel Slater the chef recently did some TV programmes exploring this idea in food- salty and sweet, hot and cold etc.

From left to right:
Trollbead neither fish nor fowl (sale), Trollbead lime (sale), Trollbead tupilak mouth (sale), Trollbead white cz, Trollbead tupilak (sale), Trollbead dichroic ice, Silverado flowers, Trollbead mountain crystal, Mexican lock (sale).

Beautifully spring fresh jt56 ~ and Tupilaks are some of my favourite beads (I stocked up on some more in the sale too, I love their cheesy grins rabbit ). Neither fish nor fowl is another classic, great picks (and doesn't Nigel Slater have a way of describing food, it's like poetry!).

Hi Splinty - I am interested to see on Beadthrilled how many people buy several of one kind of bead. I somehow haven't managed to bring myself to do it yet. I have to break through some sort of barrier to get there on that one.

Wonderful evocative photo and the bracelet really has the same fresh spring beauty as the snowdrops.

Your picture looks great !!
It reminds of "fresh" "green" "spring"...all these things come to mind....
They are predicting VERY cold here starting on Sunday...temperatures not above 0 celcius at daytime and going till minus 8 nighttime...shame for all the trees and flowers that are already blossoming cause winter hadn't come yet....still i prefer COLD winterdays with lots osun above the grey, rainy weather we had lately....
I like your bracelet jt56,it also reminds me of spring Smile

Hi Kirstin, I am sure the programmes will arrive eventually. I didn't really take to Nigel for a long time and then a saw a film based on his life (and book about it) called 'Toast'. It was a truly remarkable and moving film about many things, but largely how passion for something is there and develops from childhood, about love and family and the meanings of food to people. The life force, energy and spirit of humans is expressed in so many ways - through the things we see here on our site, food and cooking etc.

I'll look for the book. Shows take forever to migrate here. Season 2 of Downton Abbey just started airing.

It's a beautiful combo, the beads, to me, reflect your springtime theme perfectly Smile
& your picture, with the bracelet nestled amongst the snowdrops, is sooooo pretty Daisy white
