Swamp charm

I just finished reading Swamplandia!, a haunting novel set in sunny, swampy Florida, and this was the inspiration for my bracelet. Some of the silvers reflect the adventures of 3 plucky siblings but the glass and silver creatures are more benign than the alligators and vultures in the book. It was a chance to use my new golden lab, Summersday turtle and princely frog.

The golden labradorite was hiding in plain sight. Last summer while searching for the U.S. World Tour bead, this flashy labradorite beckoned but I already had 2 labs and reluctantly left it behind. After Christmas, I went back to the store with some holiday gift money in hand. Lo and behold, that lab sat as if waiting for me! I was amazed it had not been snatched up. Maybe unless you are looking for them, the labs seem to hide in plain sight, looking dully grey until you pick them up and let them shine.

Your bracelet does evoke the swamp! Evasive flashes of brilliant light on the water and small clearings amongst the dank, dark colors of the vegation.

Don't know much about swamps at all, but I adore this bracelet! I'm sure you're right about some labradorites, they just look blah on the rack, then turned the right way they are magical like yours. Very beautiful, TFS.

Great flashy lab!

Gasp! No lab should be left behind! They do suddenly flash and take you by surprise with their beautiful lights. I asked the vendor if I could have a look at the last one I bought in natural light outside, and left her my bracelet at the counter as insurance (for the 30 seconds it took me to decide) so she knew I wouldn't run away with it.
