Re: About BeadTreat
I buy what I like , trollbeads are my favorite... Lots of new brans out there that have great beads to like Redbalifrong and Evolve...
I love the fantasy necklace and would like to see a new pendant on them rather than just the pearl or fairy... I have both...

Re: About BeadTreat
I already had good help for my linedance necklace with watch
Also I have been inspired to aquire a bead from Pandora to go with my Charlotte Borgen Design beads - similar design to some very ancient museum beads someone posted on here
I will post as soon as I have the bead in hand.

Re: About BeadTreat
Just posted about Melinaworld's Greek-themed silver beads in the general chat topic about non-Troll locks. The ancient world is so rich with design ideas. I would love to see more beads with themes - mythological and scientific/mathematical - from India, Egypt and Persia.

Re: About BeadTreat
I would love to find more sellers of artisan silver beads, like this shop. I have found quite a few online shops that sell artisan glasworkbeads (mostly on Etsy), but not alot of artisan silvers.

Re: About BeadTreat
Just be sure it's old pre-ban ivory. Or bone, preferably. Customs officials can get pretty nasty about banned ivory, and rightly so.

Re: About BeadTreat
They look very much like Japanese netsuke.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netsuke
I would think there would be some source of new beads that copy this style, without destroying valuable antique netsuke.

I think that they make some netsuke in resin now so they probably make beads like that too.

Those are stunning! I've been thinking that TB should make beads like that for a while now, they would go great with all the oriental beads. They could use bone or a modern resin too.

Re: About BeadTreat
they are Japanese OJIME beads..
start first made in china´s HEIBEI Province during the mid-1980s
The beads are meant to work with the NETSUKE so the japanese people could hang items on a sash from their kimono..
today, they are carved from box wood in china..
i will be loved...someday, to wear thouse beads, as MOJO, on a tb bracelet..maybe from bones or silver..
i don´t like "plastic"..
aren´t they really wonderful?

Re: About BeadTreat
Love them...have one ojime bead that's carved, it's the foo dog, I think it's called...I haven't made the hole big enough yet. I also have 3 metal ojime (real ones) that I put with my Japanese beads. 2 of the holes are drilled and one, the elephant, I am STILL trying to drill it...have no idea what it's made of, but it's HARD!!!

Amazing beads, all of them!! thanks for sharing.
I am sure they must be available in resin and not ivory these days - hope so anyway.
