Lake eye, thoughts?
I have received a Beaverbrooks gold card £15 credit, which I would like to put towards a bead. I nearly put it in the recycling, thinking it was junk mail, good thing I double checked! I'm not going to be near one of their shops in the next few weeks, so will be buying on the internet where there is a limited selection of beads. I'm tempted by Lake Eye (have been for a while now) but am not sure about how easy it is to combine. Has anyone got any pictures of it on their bracelet or suggestions? I'm thinking of a teal/purple theme. I could always play safe and get a silver if I decide against it.

VERY hard to combine, I looked at my ld for beads that went with it. Found none.

Cottinghamgirl - check the back, I have a golden ticket from Beaverbrooks but in the small print (point 2 on the back) it says the card can't be used online.
I'm in the same situation - the nearest Beaverbrooks is an hour and a half's drive away so it would cost more in fuel to go there than I would save with the voucher

My feeling was also that it would be hard to combine, but if anyone has pictures would LOVE to see them, because I still like the bead.

I hadn't seen that, haven't read it properly, now can I persuade DH that we need to go somewhere for some reason other than bead buying where there just happens to be a Beaverbrooks?

I love Lake Eye and find it very east to combine but I suppose it all depends on the beads already in your collection and your taste in combinations.

Re: Lake eye, thoughts?
@ Fay,I've just seen that in the other thread and it is lovely, just what I had in mind. I have quite a few of the darker blue and purple beads and have been thinking about getting the turquoise prism too, so I think I could make good use of a Lake Eye whether I am able to get one with my discount card or not!

I love this color I think it would go great with some jaspers, browns and the neutrals I usually wear. I think it will be an easy bead for me to work with! I saw a bracelet picture here someone did, and it is one of the prettiest I have seen.
I just looked, search for Swan Lake. Really pretty!

Lake eye is a beautiful bead. It is not the easiest bead to use in combos but it can be very pretty.

Re: Lake eye, thoughts?
@Treeinwind, I had also thought it would be good with jaspers and neutrals, so I seem to be on the right track and it could be a versatile addition to my collection .
Thank you all for your comments and the photo so far.

I've use it with creams, purples and ambers (not all at once!) but it's got great depth to it

Re: Lake eye, thoughts?
I love that bead and it's saturated color. I've got it on my Christmas bracelet right now with red and white beads. Other than that, I tend to look at a fabric and try to emulate the colors in a print rather than looking in the bead box and starting by picking beads.
It's always interesting, I think, to work from a pattern of compatible things and then choose one accent stands out. I think Lake Eye would be perfect for that. Like it stood out of those Fall colors in the kit it was in.

@ tinka, That is a lovely combination with the purply peacock pearls and the pretty glass from the Austrian collection (also on my ever growing wish list).

Re: Lake eye, thoughts?
My DD was home at the weekend, there is a Beaverbrooks where she lives so she took the gold card back with her and has been able to put it towards a Lake Eye which she will bring home for me at Christmas. I'm looking forward to making a new combination with it.

Re: Lake eye, thoughts?
I LOVE Lake Eye! My SS gifted me it, and my answer was to pair it with another Lake Eye and a dark green Aventurine I already had. I think it is a great & unique color, plus the only one of the Fall glass that I own yet. Definately don't overlook it.
Re: Lake eye, thoughts?
OH NO!!! I have had a terrible urge after reading this and another post to buy multiples of this bead and multiples of white!! Don't possess any at present!! It looks so fabulous in these combos - love yours above Rainyday. Help!
Re: Lake eye, thoughts?
A lovely combination rainyday.....I have one Lake Eye but as yet have not used it, I do however love the colouring of it.
