What do you think ?

I never buy production beads on ebay, sometimes I buy an Ooak but a bead I would love whatever its pedigree.
The other day I had a mad moment and bought a White and a Beige bubbles, now I've got them I'm not sure.........................what do you think ?

Here they are compared to my existing Bubbles.

I am pretty sure they are fakes Fuzzy, sorry.

The colours are wrong and the cores are almost certainly not Troll.

There are so many fakes rattling around on ebay at them moment it is untrue. I would be sending them back for a refund. Who are they from?

Also they do not look correct to me for sure the beige bubbles one.

Colour, core, even the size of the bubbles is odd.

which one out of the 4 did you buy?

2 are genuine, mine already bought from a reputable dealer, 2 I just bought on ebay, you have to spot which are the genuine and which the fakes

Well I would say the ones with the smaller bubbles are the ones that you've brought and the two smaller beads are the genuine ones. I hope I'm right I don't know if I would have picked up on it if I'd received them though which is scary! I have sent a few ebay beads back which just didn't seem right before I learnt my lesson to avoid the place. so when are you gonna put us out of our misery FF?

All packed up and ready to go back, in a way its nice to have my judgement confirmed.

BB you were very brave to guess ! The dodgy ones are the ones on the left (so out of the 2 Beige Bubbles the one on the left, same for the White Bubbles) and in the lower picture the dodgy ones are the ones at the top.

It was the Beige Bubbles that rang the alarm bells, it is a strange colour, then the cores look a bit bigger and more flimsy, and the bubbles are bigger, which is pretty, but not right.

My White Bubbles, that I got at a LD has bigger bubbles, that is why I bought it, so I'm not sure that would have tipped me off, but I don't think the cores look right.

I haven't bought a lot off ebay, but it really makes you think twice, doesn't it! Sorry for your trouble. Thanks for sharing.

Bad luck Ff, what a bummer, the cores look quite different. Are you going to give us a 'heads up' of who to avoid?

After having a closer look at my own bubbles....all four look like fakes to me
With the two smaller ones the core is wrong and the color and also the glass layer should be all the way to the core.
With the other two beads....I´ve never seen tiny bubbles like that
All my production white bubbles have big bubbles like your new beads.

Maybe the other ones are OOAKs ?

It was Iloverodents, she has some more beads listed now, the orange flowers looks like the beads that an ebay shop sells as their own beads to fit Troll.

I was at my LD at the weekend and they had lots of bubbles that looked like my genuine ones, also I bought them from a well known store that we all shop from

Look at the seller´s history....bought a lot of beads from its.a.girl.thing who sold glass fakes.

I know ! I know ! I don't know why I did it

BUT dare I venture in to give a minority view the cores on the newest trollbeads that I have bought from authorized dealers all look more flimsy, thinner, slightly larger than my older trollbeads. So authentic troll cores do seem to vary now. Not saying those weren't fakes.......just sayin......

Oh dear, so sorry that you may have gotten some impostors. I've also noticed that the newer cores are thinner and shinier. Some of the glass also seem "lighter", as in less dense. This weekend I was in a store and quite surprised to see the lack of detail on some of the silvers along with a weird grey cast to them (I compared the ones for sale with the ones on my bracelet). If TB has changed manufacturers, it shows.
