Decorative bird question
Has anyone seen a Decorative Bird IRL, that looked like the official TB pic ??
I am looking for the perfect birdy - but all that I've seen were less detailed!
The filigree pattern/decoration on the ornaments is missing (and it looks a bit "naked" this way).

Re: Decorative bird question
Indeed this one is polished too much.
Mine isn't exactly like the stock pics either but it has a bit more detail:

Re: Decorative bird question
Most of the dec. birds at my LD were a little too polished also. That seems to be the case with the autumn splendor as well. Mine are not as detailed as I would like, like the stock photos. I hope TB's goes a little easier with the polishing on next batch

Re: Decorative bird question
Am I right in thinking that they throw the silver beads into a tumbling machine of some kind to polish them?

Re: Decorative bird question
That was the first thought off me,the 4 new silvers have a very strange color of silver compare to my other silvers
I have the 3 round,but haven't wear them yet
I love the design, but i don't know what to think about them
Strange thought from me

Alot of the detail of this bird bead is on the belly.....there are flowers similar to the anniversary flower bead..and the same flower is on Sorens page in the coffeee table book.

Re: Decorative bird question
I am happy with my Decorative Bird but they do vary. In my view though they shouldn't.

Re: Decorative bird question
heres 4 that we have in stock for comparison. They all look pretty detailed. These get hand polished and if the polisher is heavy handed, there goes the detail.

Re: Decorative bird question
Yes, the bird along with the fireflies were the two I was most disappointed with. Hardly any definition on the birds I saw. Haven't been back to look since day one of the release.

Can't post photos yet but all the decorative birds I have in stock are quite detailed, though none appear to be hallmarked..

Oh I see - so you get to look at all the beads and choose the ones that you like best - how lovely.

So is the problem the polishing or the casting?

I believe it is the polishing.
