First carved amber!

A couple of days ago I finally took the plunge and ordered my first carved amber. I've been gazing covetously at them on various US websites for months, but unwilling to pay to have them imported. (Is it me or are they very hard to find in UK shops?) Anyway, they never come up second hand at a reasonable price so in the end I bought one directly from Trollbeads UK, in spite of the sticker shock.

It's been a nervous few days waiting for it to arrive, I can tell you! It seems crazy that TB don't offer live images for their more expensive unique beads. Anyway, my lovely postman has delivered a treat this morning. The design is very pronounced, and the bead itself is just a hair bigger than production trolls, so it's eye-catching without looking out of place. I couldn't be more delighted. I've thrown it together with other amber beads and the rocky beach kit just to get it on my wrist. What are your favourite beads to combine with amber?

I usually primarily end up pairing my ambers with other ambers But, I have also combined them dark colours as you have, and also with greens and with reds.

Same here... mostly I stick with ambers and seldomly combine them with brown- black beads....
Thinking about it and in springtime I should try with clear and white...

Very beautiful! <3 I have 3 carved ambers (ladybug, fish, snake), and 2 roses on their way to me! Mine are all artisan, much better prices than Trollbeads! I'm sure I will end up buying more :-D

Beautiful! And congrats. I usually just pair Amber with different shades of amber too -amber and then a few beads I have that have gold in them, like the Pocket Watch.
