A visit to Kathmandu
A long time ago, in the last century (that does sound really oldish ), I visited Kathmandu with DH and my dear IL´s . Often when I wear my Tibet beads I think of that visit. Last week I received the brown „PEACE“ bead - I had long waited to buy it, but finally I gave in and I really love that bead and what it represents. I took my „Ilvy“-bead from my Lhasa Apso bracelet and put it next to the peace bead. There were many small long haired street dogs in the streets of Kathmandu, when I visited. I felt sorry for them because long hair when living on the street with no one to brush or cut it matts horribly. But they went about their business quite happily and they were many, so I assume they did ok for themselves. I hope they still do, especially after the earth-quake last year

Re: A visit to Kathmandu
I love seeing the Tibet kit used together and the beads people add to it.
A couple in my village have 3 dogs and I sometimes meet them when we are all out walking our dogs, now the dogs have got used to each other we can have a chat. One of their dogs is disabled, it can't move its back legs and it has a harness and wheels and happily runs about, last time I saw them the man was telling me the dogs story. The dog was injured because it was hit by a motorbike and the man met the dog in an animal sanctuary he helps out at.........in Kathmandu ! The dog took a liking to the man and over several visits the sanctuary owners persuaded him to adopt the dog and he had all the tests and paperwork done and brought the dog to the UK ! I thought this was an amazing story.

Wow, Fuzzy, that truly is an amazing story! It touches me deeply how kind people can be - and I am sure the dog felt that this man was his chance at happy ever after

Lovely bracelet and sound like a great trip to remember. I also love the Tibet beads. Wish I had bought them when they were available and not so expensive.
