Stone Troll Empty Stone Troll

Post by Trollperle Sun Mar 27, 2016 6:12 pm

DH and I have been in the middle of some serious de-cluttering for the past 4-5 weeks. Every Saturday and Sunday morning I take a part of our home and go through every nook and cranny and keep what I wish to keep and put aside what has served its purpose (or in some instances has had no purpose to begin with Wink ) and DH helps carrying it to pile it into give-away piles for different recipients. I cannot believe how many things we have that we have not used in ages (or in some instances ever...) - and that even though the last major de-clutter has only been 4 years ago... Embarassed

It really makes me pause and contemplate many things that go way beyond de-cluttering my physical home...

What I love about de-cluttering is the freshness and lightness I feel, it is as if my home can breathe more easily and thus I can, too Smile

And of course this also spills over to my beads. I have started to give more attention to my „dormant“ beads, the ones that have been in my bead box for ages and I play with them to find a way to enjoy them on my wrist.

One bead often leads to another and when the little Rolling Troll felt that I was unearthing the lovely artisan stone coloured dillo from very deep in my bead box rolling out ouf hiding he came and brought his wolf fur blanket to keep warm and is now happily rolling on my bangle Smile

I am about to declutter the bead box! I think whole house decluttering bit by bit is a good thing! It makes it easier.

This book is what got me started many years ago Smile

German: http://www.amazon.de/Feng-Shui-gegen-Ger%C3%BCmpel-Alltags/dp/3499628775/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459171078&sr=8-1&keywords=feng+shui+clutter

English: http://www.amazon.de/Clear-Your-Clutter-Revised-Updated/dp/1101906588/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1459171078&sr=8-2&keywords=feng+shui+clutter

The cover was different, more welcoming, when I found it, and it is not aimed at having anywhere near a sterile white home as the cover now conveys. I found it a very „down to earth“ approach, actually so do not let the cover deterr you Smile

Here are the old editions with covers that speak much more to me than the newer ones:

English: http://www.amazon.de/Clear-Your-Clutter-Feng-Shui/dp/0767903595/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1459171078&sr=8-9&keywords=feng+shui+clutter

I am not very good in de-cluttering Embarassed

I tend to keep everything. My passed away husband was the one making me get rid of some stuff. He piled up the things he thought we would not need and then I went through and "saved" half of it again Laughing

However, I urgently need to de-clutter my basement...

My husband brings in all sorts of things, and then goes through decluttering phases and gets rid of them. But at least he does get rid of things eventually!

I always feel like I need to do a box decluttering, but then I can't get rid of the beads that I don't use. I feel like they are just waiting for the right combo. But I definitely need to do a good box organizing so that I can find the lonely beads and give them a bit of love Smile

Love the little rolling troll and his cozy companions!

Me neither, I hate it, and usually end up in saving half the things too that DH wants to throw away, especially with the babystuff from DD who is growing rapidly, and no longer a little baby.

Sorry to hear your DH passed away Puschkin63, I hope you are OK as far as you can possibly be when your dearest passes away. Hugs and take care Hug Hug

No worries there, these are not clutter, so no decluttering will happen to them Smile

Thank you all for your lovely comments, my dears Hug The dillo was one of my first two artisans and it had been sitting in my bead box most of its life. But thanks to my decluttering it found the troll and I am now wearing this very often. It feels very calming and I can use that very well right now Smile

This IS a very soothing combo and rolling Troll looks very content Smile

I also go through a phase of decluttering every spring. You've inspired me and I bookmarked a list that is very helpful too, I'll try to find it back.
