Thank you, dear Puschkin!

My package arrived this week, but it wasn't until this weekend that I could get some photos in daylight Smile

Of course I had to snap a couple photos with my phone when I first opened the package, but I waited to unwrap everything until there was some more light. It is such a wonderful package from Germany which brings back many memories of visiting the Christmas markets!

First the festively wrapped box...so exciting, the suspense is high! Smile

Now for a better photo, after all the goodies were unwrapped (and the delicious Aachen "printen" cookies are already half eaten, I couldn't keep my kids away from them! Ok, not just my kids Very Happy

) Notice the adorable green pickle ornament, which is apparently a "German" tradition according to Americans, but Germans didn't know about it until they heard about it from Americans Razz

Apparently, the tradition goes, you hang the pickle in the tree and whoever spots it first gets an extra gift. I'm excited to start this tradition in my own home this year!

I learned about the pickle ornament from a friend who I think said that it was a Dutch tradition? I wonder where it really did come from Very Happy

Ufff, glad you like everything!

However, the Christmas Card is showing the Aachen (my hometown) cathedral! Which I think is even more beautiful than the one from Cologne... Smaller but very nice inside. Our Christmas market (where most goodies came from) is in between the cathedral and the old townhouse, so a beautiful site to celebrate Christmas...

And the best: your hometwon is only about 100 km away from Aachen, so you are most welcome to visit.
